The "uncarrier" T-Mobile has an announcement coming up next week, and while it could be about anything, some recent data about their LTE testing provides a clue. According to OpenSignal, T-Mobile has already started testing it's brand new, upcoming LTE network in a total of eight different cities.
Here's where you can expect some T-mobs LTE-age in the very near future:
- Las Vegas
- Kansas City
- New Orleans
- New York
- San Diego
- San Jose
While T-Mobile has been somewhat behind on the LTE thing, its HPSA+ speeds are blistering, which means that when the LTE finally does roll out, T-Mobile's network could kick everyone else's ass.
So far, the list of announced devices that could make use of the network is short: The Galaxy Note II and the BlackBerry Z10. But OpenSignal is also spotting some Samsung Galaxies (S III and IV) on there as well. Hopefully the uncarrier's announcment on the 26th will reveal the details of the roll-out, but so far things are looking pretty promising for whenever it goes down. T-Mobile may be coming from behind, but it looks like they stand a chance at shaking things up. [OpenSignal via PCMag]
