We know that you can get your fill of Midway classics easily enough through emulation, but this officially licensed tabletop cabinet is pretty tempting all the same. For $200 (and $5 shipping) you get a 14" CRT, a duo of 6-button joysticks and 12 games like Rampage, Joust and Root Beer Tapper. Plus, there are some A/V-in ports for those of you looking to bring your HD Xbox 360 experience to the small screen. I loved the glowing Full Moon sideboard from the other month, but I wasn't able to convince my wife it'd make a good addition to our home. I reckon I'd have more of a chance with Horm Voltaceleste, from designer Salvatore Indriolo as it's a touch more subtle but just as astronomical. The doors are decorated with embedded fiber-optics in the patterns of constellations, and there's interior lighting too. It's chipboard and poplar veneer, so though there's no info on price I reckon it wouldn't be a wallet-smasher. When tabletop arcade manufacturer Retro-Tech makes a coffee table, it's gotta do more than hold books on Famous Chateaus of the 18th Century and What Things Look Like From the Sky. It has to hold that stuff and piss off your home theater. More »

TV2ART's Kabé cabinet combines Japanese-style furnishing with Japanese-style shame, but in this case, it's shame for the fact that you own a flat panel TV. The cabinet has two modes. The first mode makes it look like you've got a Rowboat scene going on next to a vase. The second mode, which is what you'll have it in most of the time, makes the rowboat slide to the right and reveals the TV. You'll be able to pick one of several styles, all of which illustrate that you aren't really proud of your purchase. Incidentally, does anyone know the name of the song that they use on their site? Gemaga (Japanese for giant things that should not be giant) had a video up on this huge Xbox 360 that doubles as a cabinet. The video's not there, but you can still tell from the screencap that it's large enough to fit 10 regular sized Xbox 360s, 3 PlayStation 3s, and one Xbox 1. And since there's no video, we can't tell if it has a giant DVD tray or warms up the house 10x better than a real Xbox. We've told you about something similar to the 12-in-1 Konami arcade cabinet before, but this is Konami's first appearance on Giz. Featuring (you guessed it) 12 classic Konami games—Frogger, Green Beret, Blades of Steel, Contra, Gyruss, Castlevania, Hyper Sports, Time Pilot '84, Shao-Lins Road, Jungler, Scramble and Super Basketball—its slightly smaller stature will make for snugger play, and its 15" screen will be smaller than many classic machines you are used to. But for a reduced price, it would make a fantastic gift under the tree... More »

A Go Nintendo reader by the name of Craig has one hell of a dad. After all, it takes a great dad to build a sweet looking Wiimote cabinet like this. I'm no carpenter but it doesn't look all that difficult to make from a design perspective. You could probably find something similar in your local furniture store. However, the detail work on the front is done quite well. I would love to have one of these in my apartment. It probably won't be all that popular with the ladies, but then again nerdy stuff never is. So who really gives a damn. The Gamerator has been the first successful technology to combine our two favorite pastimes: video games and binge drinking. Because while it initially appears to be a drool-worthy 24-inch flat screen MAME arcade cabinet with 180 preloaded titles, the Gamerator's alter ego is that of a kegerator, keeping a pony keg chilled and on tap for your enjoyment at all times. Sounds like heaven?

Why use dustpans when you can use this Sweep-Away Cabinet Vac, a genius invention that we didn't even know we needed until we saw it. Instead of sweeping dust and gunk into a pan that you have to pick up and throw away, you sweep it into the vacuum hole on the bottom of your cabinet. The vac sucks up the cat hair and feces like a standard vacuum. All you have to do is empty the vacuum later and you're done. The only problem is that it's $299, and if you want additional accessories like a 30-fit hose, it's $499. Plus, unlike a dustpan, this only works in one room. A simple but brilliant design—build an arcade style cabinet for Guitar Hero with a real Marshall cab acting as the base, a marquee and speakers on the top, and connect it to a hacked PS2 with every Guitar Hero game loaded on the hard drive. Then go ahead and deck out a couple of guitar controllers to top it all off. Needless to say, I wouldn't mind sucking so much ass at Guitar Hero if I was playing it on this thing. Even this Avion 8529 entertainment center with built-in ventilation slots wouldn't have saved Ashcraft's Xbox 360 from red ringing, but it could possibly work for you. It looks like a standard wooden entertainment center from the front, but can still keep adequate air going even with the doors closed thanks to the flow-through ventilation slots situated in convenient locations. We're not sure how well this works in practice, but if they can guarantee that my 360 won't asplode when the front doors are shut, that $1950 price tag may be reaso...ok, we're not paying two thousand bucks for this. Costco's selling this Nintendo classic arcade cabinet. Since you can get Mario Bros. Donkey Kong and DK Jr variations on Game Boy, what you're actually paying $3000 for is the orange paint and amazing cabinet art. Twin joysticks, and a 19 inch monitor round out the 250-pound pre-8-bit-era game machine.–Brian Lam More »

As gamers, this is probably the best thing we've ever seen. An amateur woodworker converted a standard cabinet into the ultimate gamer's cabinet through some hard work and some wood. Each level holds a game console, elevated for maximum ventilation. He also drilled holes on the sides to put lighted PC fans to help move air. More »

Playing video games for too long can give you a hunched back. Appropriately named arcade cabinet maker, Quasimoto, has updated their many buttoned, many joystick'd model with an "HD" designation. That's a thinner profile, thanks to the wide-aspect flatscreen LCD that replaces the CRT in previous models we've written about. Also new are the removable side graphics, 200-watts of THX certified sound, and a built-in power strip you can plug your consoles into. What stays the same is a game tray and the fantastic joystick setup. Pictures of those, after the jump. – Brian Lam More »
