The Cheap, (Possibly Awesome) Moto G Is Available Way Early In the USS

A few weeks ago, we got our first look at the Motorola Moto G. For $180, you get a solid piece of hardware running Android Jelly Bean with a guaranteed upgrade to KitKat. It wasn't supposed to be available in the United States until early next year, but it's already available fro pre-oder. It ships on December 2nd.

The Moto G is initially being sold only in its unlocked version for GSM carriers—AT&T and T-Mobile. And basically the whole point of this phone is to be cheap off contract. It's smaller and not as slick as phones like the Moto X or Google Nexus 5, but its 4.5-inch display, and 3G connectivity are good enough, especially for the money. And maybe the best part: Upgrading from 8GB to 16GB costs only $20. Will it be good enough to make our list of best budget phones? We'll have to wait and see. [Motorola via Cnet]
