Fusion Media Group (FMG) is the publisher of the web’s most widely read media brands, which include A.V. Club, ClickHole, Deadspin, Fusion, Gizmodo, Jalopnik, Jezebel, Kotaku, Lifehacker, The Onion, and The Root, reaching over 90MM unique visitors a month.

 

About the role:

Data and A/B testing are critical to the product development process at FMG. The Business Intelligence Analyst will work closely with product management, design and engineering, to help determine key performance indicators for projects, measure the UX and revenue impact of new features through A/B testing, and provide analysis and guidance to inform product decisions. This role lives within Data Engineering, and will also be involved in working with our BI Tool and data warehouse solution to provide and automate reporting to the wider organization.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work with the tech and product throughout the product development process, to determine project goals, monitor KPIs and evaluate project success.

  • Design and implement A/B tests for new features. Analyze, communicate and contextualize the results to the larger tech organization.

  • Scope out tracking requirements for new features; work with frontend development team to ensure tracking is implemented correctly

  • Work with our BI tool and data warehouse to pull ad hoc reports and automate repeat reporting asks.

  • Help members of the organization to gain access to and understand the data relevant to their role.

  • Ad hoc analysis and general data support for product

 

Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree; major in business, finance, mathematics, or statistics preferred but all are considered

  • 1-2 years of experience in an analytical role at a media or technology company.

  • Familiarity with Website Analytics/digital media (e.g. Google Analytics, Chartbeat, DFP)

  • Experience with or strong desire to learn Python and SQL

  • Self starter with the ability to interact effectively across multiple teams and product tracks

  • Strong communication skills; can explain mathematical or technical concepts in a clear, easy to understand way

  • Strong time management skills; ability to work on multiple projects at once.
