Good indicator we are in for some good sets. Waiting for the TCP58V10, as I want to go 58" this time around and the V10 bests the S1 by using a 96hz scan rate for 1080/24 instead of 48hz so it should be flicker-free.

The problem is, that the 2008 model's 58" price is so damn low now, I am having a hard time waiting. Reply

@NNTPgrip: That's always the case though. Just like how last years computer equipment is soooooo cheap that it almost makes it worth it over the high priced, slightly better, but newer stuff that's out now. Reply

@NNTPgrip: Have you checked Costco's prices?

I saw a 58" Panasonic for $2,500.

They also had a package deal where you get the 58" and 46" Panasonic plasmas for $3,000.

My wife won't let me get in on this deal. :( Reply

@NNTPgrip: I'm still wishfully thinking they will come out with a 48hz flicker firmware fix for my pz800u. Reply

@NNTPgrip: The 2008 models are fantastic as well.. though the jump between the 08's and the 09's seem a little more drastic than the 07's to 08's... quality wise... so yes it would be a tough call ;) Reply

@NNTPgrip: NNTPgrip. Dude, I am 100% with you on the TCP58V10 now that pioneer is out of the picture. I am also struggling with the 55 inch Samsung LED Backlit LCD. 1.2 inches thick vs the panasonic's 2 inch for party points. Not sure how the picture compares, thought you may have weighed the same options.... couldn't figure out how to send you private message. Reply
