@balls187: Not really, the MacPros have been using these for a while now as well. Its just this model of Mac (iMac) that gained support for them.

@balls187: Hater!
Why say anything if your not going to say something nice.
I personally want to here about stuff like this since I will never buy a PC. I love my Mac's. I love their RELIABILITY. Also, I bet if you install windows 7 on both machines and check the Benchmarks the Mac will do it better on comparable equipment. Reply

@VeeDub: Reliability? Puh-leease. The 3 macs that have passed through my household all developed significant problems and crashed more than my Vista running, 3-years-and-problem-free budget Toshiba laptop.

@Claytons: I never said Apple was perfect. I bet your problems were user error. Also, my argument wasn't that Apple is better... ITS THAT PEOPLE SHOULD STOP BEING TROLLS. I don't care about PC's. Im reading an article about Mac because thats what I like. If your not an Apple user than why read the article and leave HATER comments. I bet the Mac''s hardware would better accommodate the Software from MS because there aren't as many variables to deal with and therefor would be more RELIABLE. Oh, and that Windows 7 would outperform the comparable equipment from the PC market.
You've been SERVED.

@Claytons: Im going to make this simple for you. It's an article about apple products. If you don't like Apple products then why read the article. Why post negative crap that PC's are better? Im not trolling Gizmodo looking for places to insert my nonsense. And me putting "You've been SERVED" was a JOKE. Also, whats with the " self-satisfying myopia" comment? Are you saying I choose to be blind? Now your making fun of my vision impairment? Lighten up.

@balls187: No actually its slower. The i7 on the PC side is the 900 series with Triple Channel memory, QPI connecting the Northbridge, 36 PCIe Lanes, and soon to offer processors with 6 cores.
The iMac is the lower end 800 series which is onyl Dual Channel, DMI connecting the PCH (replacement for NB and SB) and only 16 PCIe lanes.
And the next chips in this family with go backwards and be Dual Core as opposed to Quad or Six. But the flip side is they will use the extra real-estate to include on-chip Video. Reply
