If only there weren't a ban on stem cell research during the Bushy years we may have made some progress!

There was not a ban on stem cell research there was a ban on Government funding of new lines . You could do all the stem cell research you wanted with private money. Also there was no ban in Europe so why don't we have the paralyzed walking now? Or or are labs in Europe just not good enough? Reply

@boyd.ts: We HAVE made some progress. Granted, I think this was in Australia, but adult nasal stem cells (they regenerate the scent receptors in the nose, only human nerves that regrow) were implanted in the spines of people with injuries causing total paralysis. Most of them regained some motion below the injury site. Same has been done with adult stem cells from bone marrow.
