Yes, it can be used to weed out "asshats", but its also a good way to help system wars morons snipe at any opinion they disagree with :P

Startropics 3 for Wii would be PURE WIN.

]]>
<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented]]> @aznguytim86: Yeah, I think Luke's point is that the project has been reported in development several times over the past 15 years or so, attached to various directors.

]]>
<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented]]> Gears of War fans definitely have it better than God of War fans in this department, as there is no Ratner attached to this project. That man hasn't met the script/concept yet that he couldn't butcher.

<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented on Nintendo Does Not Fear The iPhone, Sony Does Not Fear The iPhone]]> @Arsenicberyllium: You're going to have some periphery overlap, but for the most part, devout Apple Addicts are the ones who are going to be buying the iPhone, and not only are they less often gamers, but it's a small market to begin with.

*cough* [www.macobserver.com] and [www.ipodobserver.com]

Yeah, Apple's doing just fine, and that "small market" appears to be anything but at this point.

That said I can't say I disagree that the iPhone is never going to be a primary competitor in the games space. Its also not going to replace a laptop anytime soon for "serious" users, which is why I don't have one yet.

<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented on Rumor: Wii Music Dated for Japan, Different Colored Straps In-Coming]]> @Shiryu: Yeah I should have qualified that, I do keep the straps around for when guests want to play :P

]]>
<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented on Rumor: Wii Music Dated for Japan, Different Colored Straps In-Coming]]> Wii Music is not yet a game, from what I've seen and read, so I'm gonna withhold judgement until I see more.

As for straps, I never use them, so I don't see the need for new ones :P

<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented on Sonic And The Black Knight Isn't A Bad Dream]]> @freakout: Problem is that all good things come with a heavy price. That could be a universe where Bush 1 never left Office, GW was elected in 1996, and Jeb is running for his second term right now.

]]>
<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented on Famicom Carts, Not Games, As Art]]> @hahnchen: Its interpretive. You have to use your existing knowledge of famicom labels and packaging/ads to see what game you think it would be based on this art.

I'm not a huge art buff and I find this deeply inspired and very niche, but interesting.

]]>
<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented on Sonic And The Black Knight Isn't A Bad Dream]]> @Emiat: Agreed.

Also, if the title features the ability to rend off individual limbs and have enemies hopping on one leg continuing to assault you, all bets are off.

]]>
<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented on Famicom Carts, Not Games, As Art]]> Very nice stuff. I want MegaMan 9 on a famicom and/or NES cart as a promotional thing, would pay a decent amount for such a thing. Might not be possible (MM9 might have stuff in it FX wise the famicom can't do) but if it was...yeah.

<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented on Goshdangit! My NASCAR 09 Gamesave Done Blowed Up!]]> @Owen Good:

As a fellow North Cackalakian (Carolinian in normal english), I have to say I kind of also hate the Nascar, not so much for the sport as for some of the crazier redneck fans.

But yeah, its just crazy because we were just talking yesterday on the way to watch Dark Knight on the Charlotte IMAX the pressing need for some type of sticker on cars with out of state plates that would identify someone as truly from NC, even if they happen to be somewhere else right now on a job, etc. That way you can roll through the state and not get messed with as much, since the cops really should only be harrassing out of towners, right?

I propose a similar logo could be adopted here, some type of identifier that you have every right to call it as you've seen it.

Also, 336 represents Bitches. Peace Out from G-Boro.

<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented on Nintendo "Thinking" About New Wii Remote With Wii MotionPlus Built-In]]> So those of us who only have 3 Wii Remotes were right to wait? :P

But did you not think that Wii Sports 2 (Resort, whatever) wasn't the lead up for Wii Play 2? Wii Play 2 will come with this motion plus remote, which will be "available" seperately but not for long, and hopefully will be only $50.

My dreams of an HDD add on or WiiPlus hardware (Wii with HDD/8GB or better Flash Mem) are currently dashed for now, not that they were strong but I hoped....and I will hope still. I'd sell my current Wii THAT DAY if I got a concrete message from Iwata that Wii+ with more memory and coming with the motionplus controller was on the way.

As it is, I just live with the limitations of the Wii and generally like it. Too bad the DS and FFTA2 have come to dominate my playtime completely, thats kept me off ALL the other systems since I got it practically :P

]]>
<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented on Would You Play A Halo MMO?]]> I'm gonna say NO, if there is a monthly fee. If I can play for free the same way I do Halo2/3 on XBL right now, I'd be interested. MS could extend regular online play to silver members to better compete with PSN, then make stuff like this GOLD only to better differentiate, that would be most excellent.

<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented on Sonic Unleashed: Half Classic, Half Stretchy Werewolf]]> *Grabs Sega by the head and twists it around to look at MegaMan 9*

See Sega? THAT is what we want. You've pretty much fucked up in almost every 3D game, give us another REAL sonic game!

Nuff Said.

<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented on Galaga Legions Hands On Impressions: Heavenly Galaga Hell]]> This has to be something of a generational thing, the shooter renaissance we're now experiencing? Like, they guys who are in their late 20s early 30s making these games watched their Dad (or Mom) play these games in the later 70s early 80s and dreamed of what they would look like on the hardware of the future, and now that time has come.

I'm really, really excited by all the new shooters coming out, remains to be seen how good this one will be, but yeah, not since the early 90s have we seen this level of shooters all at once, IMO.

]]>
<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented on Wii Sports Resort Will Sell Like Hotcakes, Hands-on Impressions]]> @LittleBigPlaneteer: "The Wiimotion Plus should be sold separately for like 19.99 or less. "

How exactly do you think people are going to get the second unit he refers to in the article otherwise, if not having it sold separately?

]]>
<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented on The New 80GB PS3: Just The Conjecture (And Maybe Some Facts)]]> I still don't have a PS3, but I REALLY don't care about BC. My PS2 still works just fine.

If you did want BC, you needed to get one at Launch or within the 6-12 months that followed when BC-equipped PS3s were widely available. I have very little sympathy for you at this point if you ignored all those opportunities and are whining about this change now.

Me, I want the PS3 to keep getting cheaper, if they could get it significantly under $400 or sweeten the bundle (I'm just not an MGS guy) at that price with a game I want to play (Resistance 2 Maybe?) then I'll be ready to jump.

That or Iron Man on Blu Ray, whichever comes first :)

<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented on Nintendo Introduces Wii Motion Plus]]> @excel_excel: As long as its more like the SNES/64 versions of the game, No offense to Namco and whoever did the GC one but I have no wish to see another one along either of those lines.

]]>
<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented on Nintendo Introduces Wii Motion Plus]]> I figure this is definitely going to come with a game ala the Zapper, wonder if it will be a real game (excel_excel mentioned Star Fox) for instance or something more like Link's Crossbow Training/Wii Play?

Either way this is cool, and to my mind this is in direct response to the "how to do Wii Light Sabers" issue. Still doesn't fix all the problems with implementing that, but yeah its a big step towards it.

]]>
<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented on Super Chuck Norris Bros. — Wait, This is *Real*?]]> @Sparx: Just curious, have you SEEN the glory that is Invasion U.S.A.? Truly, you cannot appreciate the majestic cheesy genius of Chuck Norris otherwise.

Yes, that is technically a SPOILER of the movie, but damn if you didn't know it was going to end something like this from the description on the back of the DVD then I feel sorry for you :P

]]>
<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented on Game Marathons: Fad, or Going the Distance?]]> @DaiMacculate: Oh and yes, MegaMan1 could also squeek onto this list, simply for Wily's castle. The Robot Masters are doable, his castle is insanely difficult, in the first game. It reverses a bit in MegaMan2 (some of the masters are a bit more difficult, castle is relatively easy), then seems to stabilize at medium difficulty for the remaining NES titles.

]]>
<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented on Game Marathons: Fad, or Going the Distance?]]> Ok, no offense to these guys, especially the whole charity angle, but I want to see somebody man up and take on some REALLY hard classic games, like Super Ghouls N Ghosts, the original Ninja Gaiden, etc in a marathon format. Even better if they can get at least one or two "youngins" to play who haven't actually had these experiences before, the verbal commentary that should generate would be worth a donation by itself :)

]]>
<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented on A Week In Comments]]> @Cogito: Excellent Comment, both the one you were nominated for and here. Free Speech goes both ways, hence the massive protests that accompany KKK rallies. People are free to spew their hate/stupidity any time/place they choose, and then others are free to call for them to STFU. Its a fairly simple concept, really.

]]>
<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented on What Are You Playing This Weekend?]]> Trying to get farther in Mass Effect, and FFT A2 for DS most likely. Might get back into GTA4 for a minute or two as well, but thats very optimistic.

<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented on Midway's E3 Lineup Is "Powerful", Say Midway]]> I have it on good authority that they're about to reveal a new game, based on a Kevin Costner movie.

My money is on Tin Cup. How much more powerful can you get?

]]>
<![CDATA[DaiMacculate commented on EA Game Soundtracks As DLC?]]> Yeah, this is one of the dumber ideas I've heard in awhile from EA. Not only will I not pay for it, but even if somehow the current ability of consoles like the 360 to play my own music were to vanish, I'd go back to what we used to do in the NES/SNES/Genesis era: use my own, separate stereo to listen to music.

Simply amazing how bold they've become.
