Did you seriously expect a "Christian" music station in this game? Exactly what Christian music label do you think would even consider licensing their music for use in a GTA game, even if Rockstar wanted to?

Check out proclipusa.com - the nice thing about what they offer is that you order a mounting bracket specifically designed for your car, and then you can order a device-specific mount for whatever you want that screws onto it.

I have one in my car for my old Treo 650 (haven't gotten around yet to ordering a new mount for my iPhone though), and it is definitely very well made.

Either way, I don't think this is any different than what you'd see in other benchmarks. As taoprophet said, the main thing is that the machine you used to have to pay $2499 to get (if you wanted a 2.4GHz CPU and 256MB of VRAM) is now $1999, plus you get the other small benefits of Penryn that have already been documented.

I'm not so sure about that; if you're talking about capabilities, the iPhone OS seems to be capable of more advanced applications than the current Palm OS (which isn't exactly a fair comparison, of course, given how long it's been since the Palm OS was even still in active development). In terms of capabilities, the Palm OS isn't really more capable than the iPhone OS, Android, Windows Mobile or Symbian.

Certainly people have done a lot with third party apps, and the Palm OS still has one of the most impressive third party app libraries - and I'll even acknowledge that some third party devs have managed to do some pretty impressive stuff to really stretch the limits of what the Palm OS is capable of (such as Google's Maps for Palm OS).

In the end I think there might have been something to this - and I think it also can be seen in Apple not making Blu-ray options available on any of their Macs. Both MS and Apple see the future of HD content in downloadable content, not optical discs. Both companies have had an opportunity to more aggressively support their "chosen" platform, and neither did.

I don't know that I'd look at the price alone as determining that it should function as your only machine. You could apply that same reasoning to the TZ, and there's plenty of reasons a TZ is also more of a companion "on-the-go" machine than something someone would depend on as their sole laptop.

Regarding the lack of optical drive, I don't think this has really hurt the ThinkPad X61.

But will people buy HD-DVD versions of movies just to watch on their Toshiba laptops?

Will Toshiba also increase the screen res of all their laptops? An awful lot of laptops that Toshiba sells currently have 1280x800 resolution.

Asus manufactures the MacBook (although not the MacBook Pro). It's not that unusual, Asus manufactures machines for a number of companies.

The market for this camera is as a sort of middle solution between more basic point and shoots and a full DSLR. There are plenty of people I've seen who actually own both an S3 and a DSLR and use them for different scenarios or different needs.

And there's plenty of creative flexibility with a camera like this; especially with some of the very inexpensive lens options. You can see some of the very impressive things people have done with the S3 here: [www.dcresource.com]

I did notice in that same discussion though that people were comparing the image quality between the S3 and S5, and the S5 does seem to be a bit noisier (although whether its significant enough to bother people is another question).

But yeah, I would imagine if one preferred the capabilities of the S5, it would make much more sense to spend $335 to get one than $300 to get an S3.

I remember doing a lot of research on the S3 vs. the S5 (back when the S5 first came out, and I was trying to figure out whether I should pay significantly more to get an S5). Is it really correct to say it is a MUCH better camera than the S3? It seems like the general consensus was that the hot shoe was probably the most useful upgrade (if you needed one), along with the better LCD and Digic III; but there seemed to be a fair amount of debate over whether Digic III was much of an improvement or not.

It seems there's plenty of merit still in the S3, all things being equal, depending on the needs of the photographer.

One problem I have with Lenovo right now is that they're really close to damaging that ThinkPad reputation for quality. The big thing turning me off of the x61 is this issue with the screen bezel that comes loose. Not a major thing many, but not something you expect from a ThinkPad.

If I'm interpreting the video correctly, all that Google Maps will send to your TomTom is the address itself (i.e. it doesn't look like it is sending latitude/longitude coordinates or something). So the only thing that will really matter is TomTom's idea of where an address is located.

Although still, I'm not sure I really see another way to do something like this with the LCD taking up most of the body that wouldn't involve the pickup/bridge/strings being mounted where they are.

I don't really see how that would work though - how would you string it if the pickups were to the sides of the screen? Where would you put the bridge for that matter? And if the pickups and strings were on the far side of the body, it seems like it would be much more awkward to play.

Just out of curiosity, where exactly should he put the pickup? It seems like if the idea is to make the LCD display the "body" of the guitar, the pickup inevitably has to be placed over the display.

Mac OS X Server isn't a server OS? Really?

I'd say I'd at least have some confidence that they could do some pretty interesting things in this field.

Considering that this particularly entry is critical of Apple (accusing them of becoming sloppy, etc. in order to rush the iPod Touch to market), I'm not sure how it qualifies as "fanboyism".

Hearing that LED-backlighting is going to be an option could be a nice differentiating factor.

Unless something changes dramatically (i.e. another delay), Leopard is still supposedly coming out at the end of this month. Not sure where you're getting the "around the same time as Leopard" bit from.
