electrikecho commented on Google Goes Back to 1500, Plans to Map the Oceans If Endless Ocean might lend any insight into underwater exploration programs, if you aren't blowing stuff up like X-COM: Terror from the Deep, you won't be playing it for long.
Looking at underwater 3D-topo isn't very exciting.

I'm not sure if this would be all that useful; underwater topography changes rapidly (especially around tidal areas), so beyond mucking about the Mariana Trench while waiting for e-mail, or seeing a 3d bump of the Titanic, I'm not sure if the a Google topo map will offer more than what is already available to survey companies.

electrikecho commented on HD DVD's Death Hasn't Helped Blu-ray Sales, Which Are So Bad NPD Won't Talk About 'Em @TheDuckOfDeath: It did require a second reading, as it didn't flow like the pee from HD DVD into the Blue Ray Pool.

I won't bother with BD until the format becomes inexpensive enough for BD-R disks costing about the same as DL disks. That, and the players still cost $300+, and I'm not buying the same movie again for the 200+ DVD movies I already own. Same argument against buying PSP disks.

1. Diamond Rio 256 MB - still works, sorta... turns on and plays, but volume and menu functions are toast. Use it for jogging, as I load songs by a 512MB SD card

2. Samsung YP-K5, 4GB. Decent little player with a decent speaker for those times I can have a radio at work but no headphones, and the MP3 alarm clock function seemed gimmicky, but has made it a good travel alarm as well.
