There's also gender to be considered. My parents are way more lax on my bro than me, but I am the much easier child to raise (one of my mom's friends even told me that my mom was lucky that I was the studious, obedient daughter).

I pretend to not have it because it's no one's business but mine and my bf (just in case i bite his head off for something small or imaginary). As soon as I can, I'm taking the pill that lets you have like 4 periods a year, or 3 day periods. The bleeding isn't so bad anymore, it's the migraines, dizziness, fatigue, nausea and cramps.

my Chinese professor told us that after graduating from university, female students in China, if they can afford it, get surgery to look better. They need all the edge they can get because there are so many people trying to get the same jobs.

i've gotten rebates from a certain phone company, all on debt/credit like cards. we had like 8 of them, each needing a different pin number with every use, and some places had a minimum charge rule, so the card was basically worthless after you went down to $8. when we called to complain, they had expired. great.

i've had a lot of problems with ebay: 1. my mom had me buy her wrinkle cream on ebay and the last time we got scammed. the seller's account was shut down right after we bought it, but we were never notified, so i filed a 'didn't receive' complaint. then we got it so i dropped the complaint.
2- my mom found that the cream was fake, so i tried to file another complaint. problem: this was after the allotted time, and i can't file a second claim on the person. would it have been so hard for ebay to refund our money after we bought from the banned seller?
3-my ebay account was closed because it was linked to my brother's account. he's ... not very bright. he bid on and won 2 auctions, then promptly decided he would buy it from a third person, completely forgetting about the other two auctions, ignoring the fact that it says if you win, you have to pay. then my account was shut down. and he still won't pay for the items (we can't afford it) so i'm stuck with being tied to an account which i have no control over, so no ebay or half.com for me. oh well, it seems like other people have willingly given up on it so i guess i'll deal.

@BeckySharper: my Chinese professor said that after graduating from university, many of the not particularly beautiful girls who could afford it, would get surgery to look better to get an edge on the hundreds of thousands of other people looking for a job. it's considered an investment in the future.

my mom was uh 'blessed' with me during her wedding (i popped out 6 months later). she still has her dress. i tried it on to go as the good witch from Wizard of Oz. it's pink and tight in weird places (i'm taller than her). but otherwise, it hides me very well!
