sandmanfvr commented on Epic Supervillains Ready To Devastate Paragon City I played COH way back when and I loved COV, but the game was so unstable in that the graphics engine brought pc's to their knees. It was a MMORPG that you didn't have to give your life to, you could play an hour and get in groups and just go on missions. Loved the system. IF it would run good, I would play it again.

sandmanfvr commented on A Giant Bag of "What the Hell" on Battlestar Galactica io9, sometimes I think you don't GET BSG. Sol is grieving for his wife, that he killed. six is the one that looks like her and since he is now a cylon, he is trying to also connect with other cyclons, without the crew knowing. Also she, six, killed millions, and Sol has also killed. He is relating to her on these levels:

1) They are cyclons
2) They have loved and lost
3) They have killed and regret it

She beats him to give him clarity, like when somebody just looses it and has to "let it all hang out". He begs her for more, remember that? He WANTS to hurt and through hurt/pain he will find release because he has held his pain in. Then she kisses him, to give him more closure, because he has lost his love. It is complex, but come on io9, pay attention. BSG isn't just a shoot em up sci fi show, there is depth in characters.

Baltar's stuff, well, it is cool to. He is delving more and more in his new faith and now with the president's order overturned, she is losing face and power. Plus what was REALLY COOL, you see Six, the one in his head, physically pick him up. That was cool, now she is more than just a "figment of his imagination". She physically interacted with him that was seen by others. Really cool.

It was a filler episode, to develop characters, but it was a good one. Wash you eyes with soap? Wash your mind seeing as you can't see what they are getting at.

sandmanfvr commented on Priest Takes Off Using Party Balloons, GPS to Find God (Literally) He was an idiot. I know he was a father, but don't blame the technology. It was HIS responsibility to pick a device he could understand. It was HIS responsibility to be safe and not fly in bad weather. Why didn't he try to do a fast decent as he saw the ocean coming at him? I would have done that and if I landed and hurt myself, I wouldn't be out in the sea and die. No gizmodo, technology wasn't at fault at all here, just human stupidity.

sandmanfvr commented on Hulk Doomed? Ok so he has creative input? What is wrong with this picture is the old saying "to many chefs in the kitchen". There needs to be a line between the actors/actresses and the producers/directors or we get this crap. sandmanfvr commented on Top 10 Unsung Science Fiction TV Classics I saw "Tales from a Parallel Universe" that became Lexx. The show was great, but in the end it was about the main girl (not as good as the original, not by a long shot) and sex. I mean sex is good, but the show lost itself. The show did have incredible stories to tell.

Farscape is always will be a classic. Nuff said.

Brisco County Jr. was great, but again a show that was great got cancelled. *sigh*

Babylon 5 is a classic to, up there with Star Trek and Star Wars to me, unfortunately it never kept going and expanded the Babylon 5 world. Sad.

sandmanfvr commented on She'll Be Back: Terminator Renewed? T@PriorMarcus:
With the american public not to smart to catch on to alot of "technobabble" like in Star Trek, most shows dumb it down. I love technobabble and it makes Sci Fi smart (when used right). Don't blame shows/writers etc for keeping things simple, they want ratings and usually not intelligent viewers.

sandmanfvr commented on She'll Be Back: Terminator Renewed? "How exactly does a chess-playing computer get to become a military A.I. that destroys the world anyway? And how many proto-Skynets are there in the world exactly?"

Please, you guys don't understand this? It was explained, somewhat in the show, but chess is akin to war and strategies in winning wars. Good chess players think WAY ahead and great generals of war do the same. Thinking one move or maneuver ahead will get you killed. Thus The Turk could become Skynet due to it's "wargames" mentality.

Hell, it did better than most humans would have done on that ice. It is spooky. They get this thing faster, these could be robotic guard dogs that roam a perimeter of a place, to keep watch. sandmanfvr commented THIS is why I ditched Apple. THIS is what Apple needs to make. A small, mid to upper mid power computer that allows up to upgrade a few things. BUT NO! Steve Jobs is such a hardware nazi, he won't allow it, at least not yet. I can't in my good conscience buy any mac. The mini is overpriced and no upgrade options. iMac is good, but can upgrade memory only. Laptops, don't get me started on the overpriced things. The only good one is the mac pro, but way to high. This is why Apple will not grow and I wish Jobs would get his head out of his ass and do something like this, put them in Walmarts everywhere, and make Apple grow, but alas he is to busy on the fucking iPhone and iPod Touch.

sandmanfvr commented on Your First Look At The Hulk Vs. Abomination Smackdown! Stop the bitching. This is a great trailer and the Abomination is a real Hulk foe from the comics, not his dad that became the Absorbing Man in the Ang Lee shit fest. I own Ang's movie, but I knew it could be better. The acting is great, Liv Tyler was ok but thankfully she didn't speak. The cgi is fine, plus if you just streamed the trailer it doesn't look as good, I got a higher detail version and the cgi is fantastic. Some people will shit on the hulk movies no matter what, who cares.

Norton is doing a perfect banner, Bana just over acted. I am so stocked for this movie. Going to be a BIG summer!
