But aside from that, I don't see why I couldn't just mooch knowledge off my friend who's in school for EET and do some small programs and projects on the side. I know C/C++ and I've been working on Obj-C, he can teach me Java and C#.
But I have a good amount of debt (not all of it is technically mine, she robbed me and ruined my powerbook) and even with moving back to my parents, I cant afford to move out again or go to school full time. It has to be part time school and full time work. Even lower ranked law schools (I did OK on my LSATs and my GPA was just over a 3.2, I'm realistic but I also don't buy into the elitism that if the school isn't top 40 that you aren't getting a job I will gladly take a public sector job in the mid $40s to start) are in the $15-20k a semester range. So I need to continue my 6 and 7 day work weeks until I have enough saved up. Gadget purchases have suffered dramatically and I think its best that "I want" rather than "I get". Also the internet is wayyyyyy cheaper than real counseling.

Personally I set limits, $150ish for a point and shoot, $800 for DSLR body, and as many lenses as I can buy for as cheap as I can get them. $150 for a pocket digicam goes a long way. SD1000 can be had for that much which I consider THE pocket digital camera (even though I went with a Nikon S210)
