I haven't had any customer service problems with T-mobile. In fact, their customer service is why I like being a T-mobile customer! (Not to mention their el-cheapo data plan of 6/mo.)

Um, maybe you should just try calling T-mobile again, and tell them the phone won't charge and you would like to return it. If they try to tell you it has to be refurbished, then tell them you want a refund. You deserve a new device.

And why didn't you ask for a new battery?

As for the South Park reference, as funny as it was, that kind of conversation is not productive.

wesrubix commented on T-Mobile: We Can't Help You, Sell Your Brand New Defective Phone On eBay @LJKelley: Right on. Don't buy a gift that your recipient might not want service for.

The person who wrote in is also confusing T-mobile with a phone manufacturer. T-mobile does not produce the Sidekick. Danger (recently acquired by MSFT) produces the Sidekick. T-mobile pays Danger, and then brands the phone.

Moreover, no where in the letter does the writer state the purchase location of the Sidekick.

The effort seems incomplete to me: why didn't the writer attempt to return the sidekick to the original point of sale?

While T-mobile's response seems unfortunate, I don't see it as wrong. While they should have been able to recommend contacting Danger some how to resolve the defective part, T-mobile isn't going to bend its return policy because a buyer wasn't cogniscent of it. At least a repair shop was recommended.

Oh well.

wesrubix commented on Hidden Hybrid Automobile Dangers, What You Should Know About EMFs @Jeff the Riffer: AMEN!

Consumerist, you are a consumer protection and advocacy blog. Nothing under that umbrella should allow you to spout incomplete and unscientific data as actual science. I'm very disappointed in your incomplete commentary on such claims regarding electromagnetic fields and personal health.

And for not making one stink about a quote that an A.C. Meter is enough to detect these? That's hogwash. Not only is an A.C. Meter the incorrect device to measure EM, it's not even that accurate.

Apparently Jay Slatkin isn't familiar with any of the recent nonsense surrounding EM:
- wifi causing sickness in the UK? Proved to be nonsense. Even children who were interviewed by the BBC said it was idiotic.
- cell phones predisposing people to cancer: inconclusive. The technology has not existed long enough in a consistent state to provide proper controls for study. Moreover, people seem to forget how much Gamma Radiation (oh my god, GAMMA) comes from their TV sets.

And therein is your failure when you posted this article: like Jeff the Riffer said: stupidity of the masses.

Welcome to failure. I hope you can learn from this one.

wesrubix commented on Games People Play @battleaxonista: exactly. The original 3d GTA (I think it was GTA III and its sequels) allowed you to get hookers--who were properly paid. And then if you hurt them, or anyone, police got upset and went after you. Come on Jez, the game has punishment built in for crime. This isn't a free for all hooker bashing game. You will get clubbed if you do bad things too much!

On a related note, Bully, a game made by Rockstar, the makers of GTA III and IV, has immediate punishment for any violence against girls.

Do some more research before you complain next time.

PS I'm surprised there was no mention of "hot coffee" here.

wesrubix commented on Bose Shocks Reader, Not In A Good Way sigh. I have to side with Boss on their explanation. They made no denial that owners could return their units.

The degree of the shock I think depends on the capacitive power of the speakears in these headphones: think about it, the more charge that can build up to make heavy bass, the more charge from static electricity can build up to cross the voltage gap between the phones and your ear.

I do find it a big odd that Bose hasn't figured out a fix for this yet.
