Japan's Hello Kitty Cat Humiliation System

Oh… oh my. Japan, a country that never fails to blow my mind, has just seen the release of, according to Google's hilariously inept machine translation, the "Hello Kitty transformation set." It's basically a hat, bib, collar and carrying bag to turn your cat into the saddest, most ridiculous-looking cat on the block. Below, you'll find a gallery of cats with no dignity. After the jump, you'll find examples of perhaps the greatest machine translation I have ever seen, and I'm not exaggerating. You're gonna want to see this. Thanks again for the comedy gold, Japan!

Well, I might be able to put it on one of my two cats without a trip to the ER. But if I did, one of two things would happen: either kitty would lie on her side, mew weakly and gaze at me woefully while affecting an appearance of near death, or she would race around the apartment in a frantic attempt to outrun the damned hello helmet.

I have a cat, I've owned dogs. They come with thier own clothes. We do we insist upon dressing them in something we ourselves would not wear. Dressing animals in human clothes is against nature. Leave them alone. If you do not like the way they look, stop owning pets. What do you think they would dress you in if givin half a chance.

Some of the cat names are, um, "interesting" when Google translates them from the Japanese site. Check out the 5th cat down.

Seriously, though, my little bundle of fur and claws would stage a mutiny should I ever attempt to dress her like this. I'd have hairballs in my Choos by day's end.
