No one ever did master the art of sending photos from your camera to your PC wirelessly, but now a semiconductor company by the name of Artimi is hoping to give the concept another shot. They're working on a wireless USB technology that, with the aid of a USB dongle, would let you transfer up to 1GB of photos from your camera to your computer in about 30 seconds sans cables. Artimi is hoping to get some WUSB cams out the door by end of this year, with bigger names jumping on the bandwagon by 2008. We just hope it works, since last time someone tried this the process were slow and kinda clunky.

Wow, thank god someone is working on this- plugging a cable into a dongle is SO MUCH EASIER than plugging a cable into my camera! I think I'll take on a second job with all the time i save.
yeah,uh,anyone heard of firewire?cuz reaching to plug in that cable is just tiring.
My SD card converts into a USB drive.
What do I need this mess for?
I guess if you're on the go all the time, and just leave this plugged in a out of the way USB port? But otherwise just plug the camera in you bum! :p
What does a semiconducter company know about making cameras? Is the camera any good? That's the important thing... and the cost, that matters, too.
The photographer in me says this might lead to something that allows nearly instant review on the monitor. If it's cheap it could be great for the professional in the studio!
