If you went to the movies this weekend, you might have seen the new Dark Knight trailer that we posted yesterday. You probably didn't see this new 6-minute Dark Knight trailer, however, as it only showed before IMAX screenings of I Am Legend. It hasn't been posted to the internet yet in anything other than a cam recording from a theatre, so the quality isn't top notch, but it is a full bank heist scene from the movie, so who are you to complain?

I saw it in the IMAX this weekend, and it looked amazing. It was a strange way to do a trailer as it appeared to be the beginning of I Am Legend, because it looked like your generic scene that would start a movie, but you quickly realized that the joker masks had nothing to do with the movie. All I can say is this will probably be one of the best batman movies ever made.
yup...crappy quality, just like most of the other batman movies. this however actually looks promising.
I seemed to be in a minority that enjoyed Batman Begins, so I'm looking forward to this film.... maybe?
It's relatively realistic compared to the Burton films, and whatever that slop was that Schumacher smeared all over the franchise.
But this... meh. Heather Ledger not so good.
Batman, daytime? Not right.
Holy Crap-ola Batman. That was friggin' AWESOME!
awesome scene. thanks.
Okay. That is one great sequence.
I wonder if they're deliberately invoking the 2001 bank heist trailer for Spiderman that infamously ends with a shot of the World Trade Centre.
Don't worry TOKIWARTOOTH - i hear that Batman used a MacBook Pro and the Joker's PC running VIsta crashes during another heist scene later in the film.
@tokiwartooth: You're not in the minority because the big arguement since that movie came out was which is better, Batman or Batman Begins.
I believe that the first Keaton/Burton Batman was by far the best.
Batman begins, FTW
down in front!
Looking forward to this and IRON-MAN.
This looks like a better quality version of the clip:

I thought the dialog was bad. Plus, the voices seemed too cartoony. I know the dialog was for the audience's benefit in order to set up the Joke, but I think they could have done without MUCH of the dialog and the audience still wouldn't have been lost and the scene wouldn't feel like it came from a bad action flic.
@iPhoneGroupie:
Sorry same version.....
LOL, I'm a dumbass...I was watching as they went into the bank and marked out thinking "that's the dude from American Psycho!!"
@gokor: Batman was great, but Begins is MUCH truer to the comics. Burton was quite clear with the fact that while he used the comics, his Batman was not based ON the comics. Nolans very much is, the storyline of this movie is a cross between Batman Year 2, and The Killing Joke
I thought the smoke grenade was a nice touch.
@Falconfire: Even still, it had a better identity, and had more depth than Begins. I like the fact that they made their own story for it, instead of just ripping off a story already told (Frank Miller is the only one to write the comics well, Batman as a character is lame, get a weakness).
@nospamsam: Morphine grenade maybe? They said Joker uses that on his victims.
This movie is gonna rock just like Batman begins. This franchise is back.
@Falconfire: EXACTLY
Batman begins is the best Batman movie by far.
He's kinda cute.
heath ledger's face looks fat...
wOOT Cant wait for this one!!!!! When is the Hulks trailer coming out?!?!
I thought batman begins was amazing (a new thing fir a batman movie) and am hopeful that the Dark Knight will live up to its awesomeness.
Two more things, how come you dont have the 5 min. preview of "Cloverfield", and wheres two face?
Too many people to respond to. "Begins" is by far the better movie. It is the way Batman is supposed to be. To me, when Mr. Mom put on the costume you couldn't tell the difference between Bruce W. and Batman. Attitudally. Don't get me wrong I liked the movie. In "Begins", Bruce W. is just that. When he puts on the costume, his personallity splits and you get a complete madman.
I love the darkness. As much as I enjoyed Batman with great performances from Keaton and Nickelson, it was to comical for you to feel the threat. Batman Begins just takes me to Gotham to watch the fake reality. The Dark Knight looks dark and I can't wait to see it.
Here is something a little interesting. For those of you that have seen I am Legend, did you guys notice in the first quarter of the movie (Will Smith is about to kill the deer and then a Lion grabs it). Right before this scene, there is a wide shot of the road he is on and on the top right corner of the screen there is a huge movie banner with a Batman and Superman logo one on top of the other. There was a date on the banner but it was conveniently washed out by the sun (...5-18...).
Could it be real evidence of a BATMAN vs. SUPERMAN movie or at least a teamup?
NSFK (not safe for kiddies)
Michael Keaton playing Batman is as unconvincing as Roger Moore playing James Bond.
-Who was Michael Keaton going to beat up? -A 6 year-old Mila Kunis???
@EMoShunz: batman begins rules your face. not only is it the best batman movie ever, it's one of the best action movies ever
It's like a nice new take on the POINT BREAK bank robbery scene, which I really love...
Hope they do something original with it.
Nolan's batman is so superior to Burton's personal Batmanishlookingcharacter, that it's ridiculous. I hated every Batman movie starting with Burton's Batman, and through Forever... Thank God for Nolan, who actually respects the franchise.
If you're going to do what Burton did, why even bother calling it Batman? Why not just make up his own superhero, and not ruin a revered literary character?
@radikaled: i noticed that too, but as far as i remember, Superman Returns replaced the Batman vs. Superman project... i could be wrong, though...
@smokyburnout:
There was a marketing firm that made all of the signage in the movie, it was just them being creative and starting drama. Justice League is the next big DC project, and that basically has only B-listers even rumored to be on the project. Unless, of course, Common as Green Lantern is considered A-list acting.
Burton's original stuff is good, but he ruins franchises - I haven't liked ANYTHING he has done that was a take on preexisting material. Hated the casting of Batman, the Pace, the tone.... Jack Nicholson made a GREAT Joker...that was it.
I love Batman Begins more than any other Batman movie...more than any other comic book movie. VERY true to the comics.
ha, the first batman was the best. keaton and nicholson for the super win.
although this movie might turn things in its favor a bit.
Great scene. Looking forward to seeing this one.
@gokor:
The real question was never between Batman and Batman Begins. It was always between Batman Begins and Mask of the Phantasm. Batman: The Animated Series and his later appearances in the Justice League series are the closest you'll get to actual Batman comic-bookness, as the whole DC Animated Universe group of shows was created/produced/written by real comic book fans (and I mean people who know the most obscure superheros and villains). Batman Begins is a great reinterpretation of Batman, but it is just that. It's Batman if he were to exist in real life. Nothing that's not at least plausible, which probably rules Clayface II (the one that got ripped off way so long ago for Sandman of Spiderman fame), but Clayface I might be doable. Manbat's probably a no-go as well.
@Simpsons-Movie-ruled: Two Face is probably next movie. Aaron Eckhardt is Harvey Dent in this movie.
Superman / Batman wont happen anytime soon most likely.
I heard there's this one crazy part where batman loses a wheel and the joker gets away. Ho ho ho!
Holy cripty crap! How I was waiting for a decent version of Batman doing Dark Knight! Jack Nicholson was great as Joker, but this Joker is absolutely dark... and incredible. Heath Ledger is doing a GREAT PSYCHO Joker!
This is going to be the best Batman done, for sure.
I'm still slightly skeptical of Ledger's Joker--mostly because it seems almost like a Beetlejuice impression, which is distracting in a 6-degrees kind of way.
I never saw Mask of the Phantasm, but I watched TAS after school every single day.
Just an fyi for everyone - not that it really matters, but that's not an extended trailer. It's not even going to be a scene included in the new film. It's a prologue that was intended to just introduce the Joker. Weird idea.
@infitsofprint:
Watch it. That's the best movie that ties into the B:TAS series, followed closely by SubZero. Mystery of the Batwoman isn't bad, but it's also not great, and the Batman/Superman movie is simply a combo version of 3-4 eps from the DCAU Superman animated series, much like most of the other Superman and Justice League animated "movies". I think the only one that's not is Brainiac Attacks, or something like that, and not only is it _NOT_ part of the official DCAU (though the art style is clearly stolen from it), but it sounds like it's comparable to Batman & Robin in terms of how badly it sucks. The only other actual DCAU movie at present is Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, and there are two different cuts of that film. The official release is considered to be the inferior version because WB made them tone it down before release, but the Director's Cut is very hard to find without ordering it online.
@tokiwartooth:
I'm with you. I am a die hard Batman fan, and LOVED Batman Begins...
This however, is going to rock all of the balls.
