”Dealzmodo: Samsung Blu-Ray Player to Hit $149 on Black Friday
You might want to hold off on buying a Blu-ray player for a few weeks, because thankfully, finally, seriously, and almost too-latedly, Blu-ray players will soon drop into truly affordable territory. A source close to Ultimate Electronics has told us to expect the Samsung BD-P1500 — usually about $400 — for $149 on this particularly welcome and poignant Black Friday. Ultimate Electronics is a primarily Midwestern chain, but look to be offering this deal in cooperation with Samsung — in other words, it's probably not the only place you'll see stupidly cheap Blu-ray players come November 28th. -Thanks, Carmel and Matt!
iPhone 3G Coming to Walmart Just in Time for the New Great Depression
Boy Genius Report has it "on good authority" that Our Lord and Savior Jesusphone 3G will be sold in God's own retail store: Walmart. They name November 15th as the date of arrival, which is just in time for shoppers to overlook it as they clear their local Walmart of cans of beans to prepare for the econocopalypse that's sure to destroy Western civilization as we know it. You heard it here first, folks: the hot gift this Christmas will be a can of Heinz baked beans. [BGR]

The Black Friday Shopping Tsunami is Over; How'd You Fare?
Not to be a jerk, but waking up at 2 a.m. to stand in the cold for a few hours waiting to save $100 on a laptop doesn't seem like a sign of intelligence to me, or at least not a sign of being able to prioritize things properly. My cynical, judgmental view of Black Friday was only solidified when I saw this quote in the New York Times today: More »

Reminder: Apple Store Black Friday Details Lift in a Few Hours
Lest ye forget: While everyone else is having Black Friday door-buster, blowout sales, Apple will be having its more elegant-sounding one-day "shopping event." We're a little nervous because there's no mention of any deals on Apple products. You'll have to click onto the Apple Store site—on Friday only—to see what's up. But there is one guarantee: you will get free shipping. We're pretty sure Apple gives free shipping on a lot of purchases anyhow, but we won't look a gift-horse in the mouth. [Apple]
