Leica D-Lux 2 Coming?
This is some pretty epic news for the photogs. The Leica D-Lux 2 features handfuls of unique features that aren t so common to the average handheld digital camera. First thing first, this camera is supported in the latest version of Adobe Camera Raw. The other rumors are stating that this camera will feature at 16:9 aspect ratio and also be and eight megapixel camera. There was also rumor of a LEICA TELEVID spotting scope eyepiece adapter available for this camera. Unfortunately this information came from a leaked press release, so who knows if this is true or just another fake. More »

Gloves off At Blu-Ray Camp
Ah, the quibbling of media giants. Sort of fun to watch. And now the Blu-Ray backers have fired back at Microsoft and Intel for the reasons the companies gave earlier this week for backing HD DVD. From capacity to managed copy support, the Blu-Ray Disc Association group has said that there have been inaccuracies on all kinds of issues—and they want their toys back! Jordi Ribas, director of technical strategy for the Windows Digital Media Division, was quoted as saying that, "Microsoft's decision to back HD DVD was based on how the competing specifications look today, and not on claims about what may or may not be available in the future." Nokia Moves Back Internet Tablet
I love this product. Been waiting for it all year. And now, sniffle it looks like my wait will be even longer. I saw the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet at early spring's CEDIA in New Orleans and was told the 770 would be released by Q3 this year. Bud sadly, it looks like Q4 is the new release date and we're expecting right before Xmas time.Nokia 770 Internet Tablet Release Date Postponed [Portable Gadgets]

AOpen Springs Pandora For Holidays
As we mentioned back in June, Taiwanese computer company AOpen has finally scheduled its release of two Mac Mini look-alike computers (just two-inches tall), code-named Pandora, in time for the holiday season. The Linux-based version should go for $399 and the Windows XP-based computer will retail for $499. Both include slot-load CD drive, three USB ports, keyboard hook-up and serial port in the back of the box. Also expect internal wireless network connectors.AOpen box inspired by Mac Mini [CNET]

Hermione Resurfaces
Just got this image of the Sony Ericsson Hermione aka the P910i or whatever they want to call it, in all of her glory. More »Dell Stiffs Customers
Oh I see, make more expensive computers and plasma TVs for the rich people and stop free home delivery of low-end computers to poor people. Thanks Michael Dell, you're a pal. After missing analysts' revenue-growth forecasts last quarter, it seems constant price-cutting has finally caught up with Dell and this is the company's way of making up for it. Now, the only way you can get free shipping is to pick up your computers at the post office. Want it delivered to your home? Pay for it bitch. Though I'm not sure what is going to stop me from just going to the closest CompUSA and picking something up there for a comparable price. Oh well, there's always Gateway...Dell to stop free home delivery of computers [Reuters]

Black Toilet Paper
Renova is releasing an all black toilet paper. I have pretty much spent the entire day pondering this concept, dreaming and wondering what kind of advantage using black would have on me and my posterior end. Well after finally reading the Renova press release I have unfortunately come to find out that this toilet paper doesn t have a point. More »

KODAK Photo Printer 500 Hands On
More exciting than the jump up in their digital camera lineup may be Kodak's hot little portable Photo Printer 500 that's compatible with just about every digital media card out there-and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The smaller than a breadbox (how big is a breadbox, anyway? Let's say smaller than an Aquaman lunchbox) printer has slots for SD, MMC, CF, and xD cards on its front, a USB port on the side and generates pretty durable 4X6 prints on paper seemingly identical to what's used in C-41 processing. At the product demo on a boat that traveled around Manhattan in the driving rain yesterday, grenadine that was poured onto a photo of me (that I had intended to send to my mother) wiped right off. The Bluetooth partnering was a little problematic at this press unveiling, but the rough water on the East river from the driving rain during the launch (Get it? Launch? I kill me.) had the lights dimming a little bit and the straining inverter may have been to blame. The not-ready for prime-time beta models I worked on (final product ships October 4) froze up a couple of times, but the prints that it did produce were fast (done in about a minute) rich, and, well, frameable. An image Blue-beamed in from a Razr and printed was surprisingly credible. More »

Digital Turntable-in-a-Tree Stump
Raise your hand if this describes you: Bah, you say to the cheap turntables in the desert. You're a serious DJ, and you want a high-torque deck you can scratch on. You want it controlling a custom Max/MSP software patch for sound generation. And you want it in a tree trunk form factor, because there's nothing like a deck in a stump. You people are just so predictable. More »MPAA - Can I Sue You Then? For the Punitive Damages You Are Giving Me?
The MPAA is kind of like that kid you used to beat up in school. You lift his jacket up over his head and he starts flailing and trying to hit everybody around him and then he falls down and cries. You can basically keep doing that until you get a detention, but it's SO worth it. More »

RCA Cell Docking System... Or Just Get a Landline
The RCA Cell Docking System is based on the premise that you only have a cell phone and that you may not get good reception in your home. The point of this new product is to let you make or receive cellular calls on a regular digital phone, using the Docking System, which is stand-alone telephone and digital cordless handset with rechargeable base. Just connect your cell phone to the docking system in a room that "receives the clearest cellular reception" and you'll never have another dropped cell call. But if this is just for the home, and you have a real problem receiving or making cell calls, why wouldn't you just get a landline? If, however, you just have a cell number and run around your house screaming, "Can you hear me now??" on a regular basis, I guess this product is for you.

A-1 QP iKeychain Ultra-Super-Cool Nano Case
First off, with a name like A-1 Quality Products, you better have something damn impressive to keep me from boycotting you. Now with that said, A-1 QP has released yet another iPod case with the letter "I" in the name: The iKeychain. Aside from the lame name, this is actually a pretty sleek looking metallic case for the iPod Nano, with a keyring positioned at the bottom. The iKeychain totally protects the iPod by enclosing it inside a 2-piece case and sealing it shut. You can get different colored metal face plates too if you don't mind paying for them. They come in red, blue, gold, and black. Too bad your keys will make mincemeat out of the elegant design that case has.If you wanna net one, it'll set you back $39.95 to $65.95 depending on which model you choose. More »
