This Apple branded leather case was one of the announcements today at Apple's "Fun" Event. And this case is as far from "Fun" as possible. There are three different versions available for the 30GB Video, 60GB Video and the nano. The kicker, this small piece of Italian cured cow hide costs a blistering $99. More »

Canadian University Says No to Wi-Fi
Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario has said no to the addition of Wi-Fi networks throughout the campus because of the potential health risks that are associated with electromagnetic fields produced by Wi-Fi signals. The refusal was issued by Lakehead University President, Fred Gilbert. He directly noted a study done by the California Public Utilities Commission that stated tumors and other diseases can be caused by electromagnetic fields. For the Lakehead students, sorry. On-campus Wi-Fi is potentially the greatest amenity for the modern student, and it looks like you will have to wait a little longer. More »

TiVo for Free?
TiVo CEO Tom Rogers tipped his hand yesterday, revealing that the company is seriously considering a plan that gives away the TiVo digital video recorder. Rogers said testing of this free TiVo pricing plan is likely to begin fairly soon, and will probably involve longer-term or pricier contracts similar to those offered by cellphone companies. Rogers has confidence about the company's future:"As much as we do get skepticism about our future, there are over 4 million TiVo subscribers — that number is growing. We feel that the notion that TiVo has hit some kind of distribution wall and is no longer a growth animal is not the case."More »
