Japanese folks love the shinkansen. Like, a lot. We're not just talking the way kids love dump trucks, we're talking about the shinkansen merch business being a multi-million dollar industry, of which this groovy N700 (one of the fastest of the bunch) cell strap is a shining example. Sure, the real thing only has 16 cars per train, but with snap-on packs of middle cars (sold separately, of course), you can make your pocket N700 big enough for all your bullet-train-loving friends. And who can blame you— what's not to love about super-fast, always-on-time, future-stylin' trains that glide across the countryside as if on rails of butter? [Strapya]

Hmmm another Place to hide ur stash..
O.K. What the Hell is this Cell Charm thing about? Like I want dangly things in my pocket scratching up my phone and poking me in the thigh. Do not want.
@nightsky: It's a Japanese thing with straps on cellphones. Hit that Strapya link above and hang on.
@nightsky:
Also, you put the phone in your pocket and let the charms hang out so it's easy to grab out of your pocket. The cell phone strap/charm business is HUGE in Japan, it is used to differentiate your phone from others. Some of them are for practical use too.
I've been on this train, it kicks arse. It's so smooth, you only feel like you're moving when it banks to go around a corner. Though you don't get pushed to the side, all you feel is a slight pull downwards. Smooth as butter indeed.
I wish I could have got one of these pointless trinkets when I was there.
I think there is also an element of "good luck" to these charms. The Japanese believe in good luck charms, etc. This is a modern expression of that legacy.
should have 2 of these going down every centerline highway in the US by now but our thoughtful govt would rather spend time fighting wars instead of progressing into the 21st century like every other nation.
I'd like to see some research into stopping someone whining about politics on every damn post, anymore...
They better have some cars with Circus animals in them, that's all I gotta say.
To be honest, a Steam Locomotive-themed one might be cool as a crossover thing for train enthusiasts.
Cell phone charm/watch fob for enthusiasts or something featuring famous locomotives from around the world with different cars you can snap on and stuff.
I'm strictly a freight man because those trains seem more interesting than people movers.
@Hypenotist: Exactly. Then we wouldn't have as many small regional flights clogging up airport time and delaying everyone.
The Shinkansen would be best for frequently-used routes- one on each coast to begin with.
