BlackBerry 8300 Leaked?

The BlackBerry 8800 has barely gotten its feet out the door yet already there's news of a new BlackBerry prototype codenamed Daytona. Unlike the business-oriented 8800, the 8300 will be multimedia friendly and sport a 2-megapixel lens with flash (zoom will be controlled via the handheld's pearl "button"). Also onboard you'll find Wi-Fi and built-in GPS. Software-wise, the 8300 will be made to deliver the best media experience possible, closely resembling the experience you'd get from a media center PC. No other details are known, but from the initial photos, this one looks like it's worth waiting for.

  • Don't even do this to me ... I've been suffering with a crappy cell phone and BB7250 for the last month because I decided to "hold out" for Verizon to release a BB8800 ... now there's something even "cooler" off in the future ? This is going to kill me.

  • so....
    where is amazon??

  • Hi!
I'm the author of these photos. I have tried the gadget and i have to say that the 8300 is nice, but the firmware is buggy, veeeery buggy. The GPS and Wifi functionalities were software-enabled, but they were not physically implemented inside this prototype.
You can see more photographs and in the future i'll post every prototype i receive (1 or 2 per month, moreless) in my blog, MenteSDigitaleS (mentesdigitales.wordpress.com). I'll post in spanish and english, so you can understand it better. I'll post a short video i made of it in the next few hours.
    Bye!

  • BlackBerry 8300 and Treo. Separated at birth?

  • There's ALWAYS something cooler down the road.

How is the 8800 "not media friendly" when the differences between the 8300 and 8800 are the camera and WiFi?? The 8800 will play MP3's and video...

  • Blackberry 8300 and the Treo separated at birth? How about the Moto Q? It seems to me that all the big companies are putting out phones with this form factor.

  • I doubt it's a case of ripping off the form factor. There's only so many ways to arrange a QWERTY keyboard and a screen, after all.

  • Whats missing from the 8800 isn't WiFi, its 3G!!! I had a samsung blackjack before the 8800 and the 3G internet is COOOOOL!! Surfing the web like you are at your desk!!!

Come on RIM, Give us some 3G love!!!
