This Hyundai W-100 Wrist Phone is not the first cellphone in the form factor of a watch, and it's probably not going to be the last, either. Hyundai is apparently marketing this watch we showed you in the form of prototype last summer from Chinese company Cect. That's a lot of tech to pack into a small space, and this is the best looking watch phone we've seen yet, too.
It's equipped with Bluetooth so you can walk around and look like you're talking to yourself, and then you can be sneaky and take some pictures with its 1.3-megapixel onboard camera. It even has an MP3 player, and if your eyes are sharp enough, it plays videos, too.
No pricing info was forthcoming yet, and we're not sure this is going to be available in the US, either, but it's a nice design exercise, and we can expect to see more of these kinds of watches Stateside before too long. [Phonedaily, via Wrist Dreams]

Yes but can I take it in the shower or the swimming pool? cause I'm lazy like that
I won a hyundai lcd hdtv.... It is kind of cheap looking, i.e definitely not designed by apple, but it works well. This is kind of cool....Though, I would feel more inclined to have to answer my phone.....:(
I can hear people saying it already: "Either that guy's really late, or he really likes watching time go by."
calling dick tracy!
calling dick tracy!!
Its pretty awesome i think, Think about it.. No one pays attention to someone looking at their watch..
If you are in a meeting and your watch vibrates, you look at it to see who it is, no one would bat an eyelid. If you took your phone out and looked at it, people would notice.
Also, on the streets, you will stick out much less to the criminals, than that guy changing tracks on his iPhone.
Downside, if it catches on, people might end up cutting your hand off trying to steal your white normal watch.
hell no.
I'd definitely buy one, so long as the battery life is decent. Which it's probably not.
I wish they would go wide with these watches rather than thick, I'd rather have a watch twice as wide as a normal watch as long as it was sung and slipped under my cuff. If this thing has expandable memory and stereo bluetooth then i'm sold.
Its got microSD , we have a winner!
Mmmmm...wrist cancer....
@guojenman: Tracy here.
I can see some of the first buyers walking around in trench coats, hiding behind hot dog carts and humming the Mission Impossible theme to themselves. It's just another level of the 'D&D' kids running around with cardboard swords and saving dolls from their dogs.
When the camera & video can hit HD level and the watch gets a hipper design, I'll get one too.

Yet another Birth Control Watch. As in, wear one of these and your chances of getting laid are zero.
Do people still wear their watch backwards? Look at the picture. The hand is facing upwards. Geek.
Main problem with wrist watch phones... try and answer the damn thing. OK I didn't mean to act it out right now! But seriously you'd look the fool in a suit trying to talk to someone unless you were wearing a Bluetooth at the time. You'd look insane trying to talk on the phone, plus you'd have an arm cramp in minutes.
@winkydink: Exactly. Make it smaller and slightly less obvious that this thing is some expensive piece of nerdy kit and you'll have a winner. The ideal phone watch doesn't look like a phone watch.
It's like it's from the not-too-distant-future or something.
@weatherman:
yea the battery life has got to suck on this thing
One of the things I like about having a clock in my phone is that I don't have to wear a watch, so this is a step in the wrong direction for me.
it would be cooler if they just eliminated the buttons and gave it a big touchscreen
any pics of the persons whole arm exactly how big is this watch
the thing i don't understand is that Hyundai, could not have made a watch which only had Chinese and english when it is a Korean company? also, if you look at the sticker by the sim card slot it says "made by korea"?...
i finally got lucky and ran acrossed a reliable site and got phone watch in 7 days… the DigitalRise M600i (w-100) is only dual band - [www.chinagrabber.com]
I got the Tri-band (for USA) D-rise D187i - [www.chinagrabber.com]

If visit page www.tedacos.info will see all models currently available watch phones with bluetooth, camera, voice command and support for multiple languages, and also if you request mod with a firmware itself. Soon all models will work in the 850Mhz band, 900Mhz, 1800Mhz and 1900Mhz.
Too cool, SMS has the M500 for about $1000 but I found this one site with them for alot cheaper techundercover.com . They actually have voice control & come with a bluetooth headset, touchscreen with stylus, mp3 and everything. I'm a huge Bond fan so I think their awesome. I will totally check them out. That'll be my next birthday present.
