Right. Europe got this Google infused LG KU580 yesterday, loaded with utilities like GMail, Google Maps, and search. Outlets like The Register are calling this The Google Phone, perhaps in jesting reference to the previous rumors. We doubt a phone preloaded with apps you can download free is The One.
But the subtext, if there is one, could be that the 3g phone, 2MP camera phone with chocolate stylings is a sign of a budding Google and LG relationship.
Previously, HTC and Samsung were the suspected partners for the Google phone. I suppose we can add LG to that list. But let me be clear. This is just watercooler talk. I place odds at less than 5% that anything like a fullblown Google handset will come from LG.

Man, that looks so much nicer than the chocolate... The chocolate just feels like a piece of crap when you hold it. I hope this is a bit better, I like my phones to have some heft to them. Also, I hope they bring this to the US... why doesn't the US get any good phones?
It looks like shit when you compare it to phones out there, that dont look like shit.
With google behind it, maybe there needs to be a better input method than T9.
Stinker.
We'll it's here if you live in Italy or France. The 3G KU-580 from LG looks a lot like a fat version of its Chocolate handset.
Either ways, I would never buy a Google phone. Who knows what Google's recording on my conversations onto their servers.
Looks nice, but I learned my lesson: LG batteries are the worst and so, no more LG for me.
word on the campus is that this phone is just a design that didnt make the cut last year (a TV phone). NOT the google phone. Oh well. now back to our regularly scheduled jPhone lusting...
Gives me a nice heads up of where not to look for an iPhone on launch day.
My bet is going to the Cingular store down between Exit 94 and the outlet mall.
No Miami ones?
Ghey.
