Prada II Phone Comes With a Swanky Little Bluetooth Watch

Apparently it was optimistic to expect Prada to understand the difference between a fashion accessory and a phone accessory, because now look what's happened: Prada and LG have announced the Prada Link, a Bluetooth watch that pulls text messages and your call information from the Prada II phone. To be honest though, it doesn't look so bad. The stylish Link has a tiny little OLED screen that displays the content of text messages, call history data, a call rejection option and, of course, the time. The only downsides are the 48-hour battery life, which leaves you latching your watch to the phone for charging every couple days, and the lack of a US release date. It's not yet clear if the watch will come with the phone for free, but considering that similar watches have retailed for around $400, I'd guess not. [Prada via Akihabara]

LG's KP500 Cookie Entry-Level Touchscreen Smartphone Gets $230 Price Tag

LG's upcoming KP500 smartphone is aimed at the entry-level end of the smartphone market, which kinda tallies with its cute-ish codename of Cookie. With quad-band GSM, GRPS/EDGE, a 3-inch touchscreen, accelerometer, Bluetooth, FM radio and 3MP camera, it doesn't sound too low end—until you learn that it'll only record video at QVGA resolution at 12 fps, and can only play back MPEG4 videos. But its price is attractive: around $228, which Boy Genius Report reckons will end up below $100 on contract. Due out later this month. [BGR]

LG Will Release Self-Proclaimed World's Thinnest 8MP Camera Phone

LG is claiming that its upcoming slider, the KC780, will be the world's thinnest 8 megapixel camera phone, according to GSM Arena. If that's true, the phone will wrestle the title from the Samsung Pixon, which measures in at a super slim 13.8mm. Besides the 8MP camera, the KC780 is also expected to have a TFT display with limited touchscreen, 30fps video recording, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity, 140MB of on-board memory and a microSD slot for more, USB 2.0 and Bluetooth 2.0. Verizon Launches Dashboard Flash-Based Mobile Storefront

Verizon has quietly gone live with their new Dashboard flash-based mobile storefront. So far, the app is only available on the LG Chocolate 3, but more phones are expected to be added by the end of the year. That would make it one of the largest implementations of Adobe's flash in the US. The service will allow users access to widgets that function as most widgets do—offering up easy access to news, weather and entertainment. If only the iPhone would get on the Flash bandwagon. LG Lotus Hands-On

The first thing that stands out about Sprint's exclusive LG Lotus is its shape. Few, if any, flip phones possess a square shape and a full QWERTY keyboard in a true clamshell design. Sprint's LG Lotus and Samsung HighNote: Fat Flip vs. Slim Slider

It's fitting that the two new Sprint phones from arch enemies LG and Samsung are so totally opposite in form. The $150 LG Lotus is a chunky purple paisley QWERTY-keyed flip phone (also in black). As you can see in the gallery below, the $100 HighNote from Samsung is a slider that elongates—emphasizing thinness—in two different directions: down reveals the number pad, and up flashes a cute but no doubt underwhelming speaker. They're otherwise mostly similar, with 2-megapixel cameras, expandable memory (Lotus to 12GB, HighNote to 8GB) and support for Sprint's EVDO media services. [Press Release] More »

LG VX9600, Little Brother to the Dare, Passes FCC Testing

LG's VX9600 has finally gotten the go-ahead from the FCC and may appear on Verizon shelves everywhere soon. Though information is scarce, the phone will have Bluetooth, an MP3 player, a 2 megapixel camera and a 3-inch 480x240 pixel TFT touchscreen. Verizon is allegedly planning to market it as a lower-end, and thus cheaper, version of its iPhone contender, the Dare. Neither company has officially announced the phone yet so no word on pricing or availability. [Phone Arena]

LG's KC910 is the New Viewty, With 8-Megapixel Camera

Nearly two months ago we teased you with a mocking mock-up of LG's upcoming KC910 cellphone, but now over at Phone Arena there's a real image, and official specs. The KC910 is a successor to the Viewty and it's no image-slouch: there's an 8-megapixel cam in that shiny body with a xenon flash, Schneider-Kreuznach lens, and shooting up to ISO 1600. It also does VGA video at 30fps and can do high-speed 120fps filming, though this is at QVGA resolution. There's even GPS for geotagging your imagery and navigation. More »

Possible LG Prada II Photo Leaked

A few months ago a rumor floated around that LG was planning a second coming of the Prada phone with features like a 3-inch touchscreen, 5MP camera, a front mounted camera for video calling, 7.2 Mbps HSDPA, a full HTML browser, microSDHC, and a slide-out QWERTY. Obviously, we can't confirm any of that information by this grainy photo—but it does back up the QWERTY keyboard, which keeps the rumors on track at least. It also doesn't do anything to discredit a possible 4Q release date. [BGR]

Verizon Visual Voicemail Hits LG Voyager, Sadly Not Free

Sorry to get everyone's hope up—the rumor that VZW's visual voicemail was to be gratis apparently only referred to the app download. It's only available for LG Voyager owners at the moment, but more phones are surely to follow. Hit the download here, and read on for full details. More »
