Here are some new ACCESS Linux Platform (ALP) screenshots from Linux World. Interesting for the sake of the idea of an alternative mobile OS, like OpenMOKO's, but also because Treonauts believes that this'll run on a Treo arriving in 2008. We'll see. [Treonauts]

Looks Vista-riffic...
Will this be on Palm Gandolf? The OS looks sweet but how does it compare to Symbian S60 3rd Ed phones?
Yeah, and when you find an ALP smartphone with XGA resolution, it'll look as good as these mockups.
Eh...I think you boys are confused. Palm is developing its own Linux-based platform, and this ain't it. ALP will never appear on Palm devices. Nothing more to see here. Move along.
Wow they stole a play right out of Microsoft's play book. The good ole update the skin and call it a new OS play BKA the Vista Play. Bravo, bravo... *flea clap*. My question is will this thing still crash when I get a text and phone call at the exact same time?
Yeah, Palm has stated that they will *not* be using ALP but will be relying on their own in-house Linux-based OS. Also that the Linux-based platform will not be out until 2008. The Foleo is a different matter - it is Linux-based, but is a different family from the smartphones.
