The Full List of RAZR2 Carriers; Almost Everybody Gets in on the Fun

We've got exclusive word that the full list of carriers for the Motorola RAZR2 will be AT&T, Alltel, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon. Only Sprint and Verizon have announced it so far, but look for the others to follow suit shortly. Motorola isn't messing around with iPhone-style marriage to one carrier; they want anyone to be able to get on board with their new flagship, just like they did with the original. So if you're waiting to get a fancy new haptic-touchscreen-featuring RAZR2, don't go canceling your contract to get one; you don't need to. Which model [V9 (3G HSDPA), V9m (3G EVDO CDMA) and V8 (GSM)] each carrier will get hasn't been announced yet.

  • That's not the full list. Cellular South, the nation's largest regional provide based in Jackson, Mississippi will be carrying the RAZR2 as well.

  • Actually, to be accurate, I'm pretty sure the 1st RAZR absolutely WAS a Cingular exclusive at first...No?

  • I'm sure my provider, regional CDMA carrier U.S. Cellular, will offer it sometime in 2011. Their business plan is to stay a solid 4 years behind the competition in technology. They finally got around to offering online account access THIS YEAR (that's right, 2007) and it's a truly pathetic effort to boot. They never did implement WAP browsing at all, and apparently they think EV-DO is a martial art.

  • I thought cingular was the first to get the first RAZR.
But i didnt see EDGE pop up. I guess its goin2 function under T-Mobile's GSM service.
Lets see t-mobile update their dam internet service. 4G anyone??? or 3G HSDPA

  • U.S. Cellular will be offering this phone between Q4 '07 and Q2 '08 depending on testing. I've already played with a test model for USCC. The V9m will be EVDO USCC receives will be EVDO capable and ready when the company does a national EVDO launch Q1.

  • U.S. Cellular; 1990s cellular, 2050 prices.

As for Moto... you'd think they'd learn something. Volume above all is dumb dumb dumb. Shifting the most handsets doesn't mean much if you lose your ass. Better to be #3 in volume and #1 in profits. They don't HAVE to whore out their phones the way they do. Have a decent mid-line, have high end phones people want to buy, and people WILL pay up to get them. For some, handsets are a fashion statement. It's hard to be a fashion statement if your housekeeper is rockin' the same phone you are.

  • Does any of this really matter?! Getting excited about the RAZR2 is like getting excited about a new analog TV station. You're getting the same crap with a boring new design. The iPhone really just ruined everything because nothing can compare. I'd like to know the answer to a very important question/poll. Who can honestly say that they've owned an iPhone and want to throw it out for a Razr2 or, for that matter, any phone? Because YOU my friend are clinically insane and should probably be put down for the better of humanity and progress. I feel sorry for Moto people who realized mid project that their new RAZR2 was 2 years too late

  • As long as Verizon doesn't use the "Verizon" menu, it should be nice.
