So last month we heard word about the New Standard Keyboard that would be showing up at CES. Well I'm here, I tried this thing out, and it sucks. The layout is done in an alphabetical order that is supposedly faster than QWERTY. Each key has about 4 other different commands that are activated like the traditional shift function in QWERTY keyboards. Overall, this thing just feels really cheap and non-innovative. I was able to get the lady to admit that it would be damn near impossible to convert anyone who has been using QWERTY for at least a couple years, so she mentioned it would be good for young children and senior citizens. Good luck with the nationwide conversion, but you may want to redesign the keyboard. Sophisticated and upright individuals like myself don t enjoy typing on colorful rainbow keyboards.
