Hmm...I'm a fan of Futurama. I like the show but, forking out $19.99 for a DVD just doesn't sound right to me. Afterall, it's going to be ripped and available on YouTube about an hour after it's released. Seems like a total waste of money.

Yeah, I can pretty much recite the dialog from every episode. I need new Futurama. But the animation in this clip looks choppy ad unfinished.

as pumped as i am for this dvd and Ill buy it day one, i have to agree with WEIHOVAH the animation looks choppy and unfinished i hope its just the youtube thing.
It a combination of the fact thats it YouTube and taped footage from comic con.

Please, please don't tell me thats your answer to everything. Some of us happen to be Futurama fans and:
A. Make more then $20 a week which is the only way I could really see that price as being a major hurdle.
B. Actually want to see this show get a better shot of airing new episodes. Fox didn't pick up Family Guy again because the torrents were so popular.
Although if money really is an issue keep in mind that it will be showing on Comedy Central (not cartoon network) in the future. All of the DVDs (this is just the first of three) will be cut into quarters and shown as 16 "new" episodes on CC. A combination of DVD sales and ratings will then help make the decision on if it is brought back or not.

Wasn't this shown earlier, like a few months ago? I seem to recall the Nov 27 date being marked on my PDA, and seeing this trailer as a cam'ed version when it was first announced... though I will admit that this is a higher quality version.

What are you talking about? When did Fox not pick Family Guy up? If you're referring to when it was cancelled after Season 3, I believe it had less to do with torrents, and more to do with the ineptitude of management. Were torrents that popular four years ago?

Fox didn't bring Family Guy back on the air after they cancelled it because pirated copies were popular. They brought Family Guy back on the air after they cancelled it because DVD sales and Adult Swim reruns were popular.
Well, it did happened to Family Guy. It got canceled, then they made a DVD then the show restarted.
As for the "it's $20" whinnying... well it's been said somewhere that maybe all contents of the DVD will get episodic treatment. All you have to do is ... "Buy it Buy it Buy it".
Gosh this makes me happy. I'm even happier about this than the return of Family Guy because let's face it: Futurama > Family Guy.
