This USB Drive concept is pretty neat because of its modularity combined with a touchscreen in the middle used to organize files. The idea here is that files could be organized however you see fit into each "chunk" and taken elsewhere in your pocket for use on another computer. While this can be done to a lesser extent with a USB hub and a handful of flash drives, the main appeal of this concept is its design, which is quite tasty. [Yanko Design]

I don't want this.
Seems to be an interesting concept. Allows for pretty granular file management and grab-and-go. As long as you remembered to clearly label the porn and work PowerPoint niblets. Because that would be seriously embarrassing. Not to mention the hassle of looking for new employment....
Looks fun. Keep work and play separate, so to speak.
It's so cute!!
I think that's pretty cool. There could be quite a few useful applications for this...
...though I can't think of any right this moment.
I guess they needed to do something with all those small capacity chips.
I'll stick with my 4GB cruiser.
@Duffasaurus: This isn't woot.com, no need to share what you don't want.
Delicious and tasty, but I wonder about practicality. They could also get lost (mmm, eaten) and then you may have to buy more (mmm, chocolates) to replace them.
It only looks good if you have all 16 pieces connected.
There is way better ways to make a devise like this upgradeable....
why green?
its a shame the designers have to reference some other common object - as they cannot articulate a new form worthy of design development.
In other words, if you can't come up with a decent shape - copy something else or another famous designer (usually Ive or Newson, etc).
@flyboy:
Good point.
However, it is also a good strategy, if you're going to propose something that may be a little out there and difficult for adopters to swallow, to sugar-coat it with some cute and familiar.
@flyboy: I believe Picasso once said, "There is no such thing as creativity, just creative thievery."
But if doesn't melt, is it still edible? I like chocolate.
I'd rather just have a single drive with tons of capacity rather than a bunch of bits and chunks. Besides, if you had all 16 bits, does that means 16 different drive letters? That could get confusing.
@yougottabekidding:
Agreed. Can we stop selling 256 MB flash drives and SD cards at Best Buy? Those are useless.
A group project for animation, and or presentation that is put together on indiviual time and computers... come friday everyone puts it together and an administrator joins the content. A way to make everyone oblivious to the final outcome of their work... from micro to macro.
They should have done this concept with legos... The company that made the lego brick harddrives didn't really give a lego feel, but instead a stack em feel
This chocolate thing looks pretty cool though. I'll check it out after seeing how it goes.
nice concept .. i liked it very much ..
