hmm, should I buy the ugly zune, though it is a better color, or the hipper looking ipod in a lame color?
If M$ wants to make any headway against Ipods they nedd A) multiple models form factors a la ipod nano, shuffle, video.
B) lower prices.

If I can get an Ipod for LESS than a zune what compels me to get a zune? Cetainly not brand loyalty!

@calaverasgrandes: They're still new to the market. Barely 1/2 a year. I can see how you and others feel.

Personally, I think it's cool. I don't see anything wrong with having more colors to choose from. Instead of the default ipod video black & white.

Calaverasgrandes, a 200 dollar zune with 30gb, is what, 50 dollars cheaper than a 30 dollar ipod.
Videos aside, itunes aside, I guess your cheaper thing makes no sense, since you'd be comparing a nano with much less gigs and a not much cheaper price, or even moreso expensive than the zune for 250 for 8gb. what a steal.
If I didn't already own a gen 1 nano that's still very functional and smaller than the gen 2, I'd probably get the Halo 3 zune, b/c I am a halo fanboy.

Is anyone else just totally tired of mp3 players in general? yeah it's red. great, looks nice even. My short attention span requires more exciting developments. c'mon...developer type geniuses!

When it comes time for me to replace my current MP3 player (creative zen jukebox 30gb) i will be buying one of these...or a next gen zune.

YAY! now we have a big red brick shaped fugly mp3 player to not purchase, I'm so not excited.
