This little camcorder, revealed at the Japan-only CEATEC, records directly to itty bitty Blu-Ray discs, and looks like a Gundam shoulder mounted cannon. This reminds us of the low-end Samsung mini dvd-camcorder we wrote about a few weeks ago. Except that one was cheap and terrible, and this one will never see a Best Buy store shelf, and is completely awesome.
With all the flash camcorders out there, I would never buy a camcorder that records to discs. You?

So soon Japan will be able to film their Wii with their Wooo, eh?
My wife wanted the ease and convenience of recording directly to disk so I bought a Sony DVD 305. What a waste. Now I'm stuck with a drawerful of tiny little DVDs full of video mediocreness.
Could have bought a camera with much better specs for the money, and how hard is it to burn a DVD? Last time I listen to my wife. Unless she's willing to put out or something. And willing to burn the experience on a tiny little DVD.
Yeah, the lack of editability is a killer.
Though, most disc-camcorders let you use rewritable discs these days. But still, it's far easier to hook the camcorder up to your computer via Firewire, dump it on your computer, edit it, and burn it than to rip the movie off the disc and start editing it that way...
