Crecente got some hands on time with the Darth Vader PSP, and he says it's definitely lighter, possibly firmer, and has a new UMD tray. The buttons and D-Pad were also tweaked and improved, which is one of the bigger complaints in the old design.

Finally a couple of pictures that are actually focused on the device.
I liked the way to open the umd tray...the buttons and the d-pad could have been firmer but not too firm for some rapid...tapping....i like this but ima wait for the psp 2 unless i can sell mine on ebay and get this..
where is the memory stick slot located. i can't seem to find it in any of these psp slim pictures
o yea for those familiar with it......I'm Darth Ninhilus. No do you?
It's a Darth Vader PSP. And it's white. WTF?
I don't know the backstory behind this version so why is it Darth Vader?
i never have wanted a PSP before.
now i do.
vader.
Oh yes. One of these bad boys is gonna be mine.
@Sternfan91: haHA!
Oh great... they screen print in a place your place your sweaty palms and greasy fingers whilst playing games for far too long on this machine.
Simply put, the ink might wear off before the novelty. I'm not sold on this minor update on the PSP, and as much as I love Darth Vader and all things evil... I'll pass.
Funny how a cheaper machine gets to be more expensive than the current price point just for a pretty picture and a stick of flash memory that I already have and games that will be even older when this hits the shelves.
Sony is lacking what it means by "update" in a large way.

I soooo want the siliver one
@gerbick:
The new PSP isn't more expensive than the previous one. The combo packs are $199 and the individual systems are $169.
Just because the Vader edition may only come as a combo pack doesn't mean you're paying more for the color and decal.
