Ferrari Arno XI Hydroplane Is Remote Controlled, Costs Two Grand
Fans of classic speedboats can now reenact one of the most exiting races ever in their backyard pool with the remote controlled Ferrari Arno XI Hydroplane. The boat is a 1:10 replica of the Arno XI, which zoomed to a 1953 record-shattering 150.49mph. It's almost 3 feet in length, weighs 16 pounds and can be controlled from up to 500 feet away for 30 minutes per two-hour charge. The price for playing with the dreamboat of the 1950s is $2000. 80,000-Brick Lego Ferrari F1 Needs Giant Schumacher Minifig
I don't know what can I say about this gigantic 80,000-brick Lego Ferrari model except that 1) it's amazing, 2) it's a blow up of the Ferrari F1 Racer 1:8 that I bought earlier this year in my trip to Lego's Factory, and 3) it was unveiled in the Netherlands for a special Lego event that started yesterday. A close up and another simulated-Lego Ferrari car that can actually drive after the jump. More » -

Pininfarina Xten Ergonomic Office Chair Makes Sedentary Look Speedy
Believe it or not, this Pininfarina Xten office chair is only three degrees of separation away from failed Gizmondo exec Stefan Eriksson. But before we begin that game, let's delve deep into this $3,000 office chair, shall we? The seat cups your nether region with "Technogel," which the designers claim reduces spreadsheet and coding fatigue by 60% (fatigue? from sitting down?). The gel is coated with Dynatec fabric, an Olympic games staple that wicks away sweat from the bodies of today's athletes. No swamp ass for you! The chair also comes in a range of colors. Feisty. I like that. But what of Eriksson? Here's a hint: Ferrari. More » -

Ferrari P4/5: Gizmolicious and One of Kind
James Glickenhaus, Hollywood Somebody, is so rich, he didn't just buy one of the first Ferrari Enzos. He had Ferrari build a whole new car for him based off of it. His main reason for tweaking the million dollar car was that he thought it was fugly compared to the Italian classics in his garage. Jalop-shop and Giz discovered, from photos found at Supercars.net, that one of his main alterations was to gut the spartan interior and load it up with what looks like a touchscreen and an iPod Nano. The car is to be unveiled in August 2006 at the Concorso Italiano, where we'll key-carve "Giz Hearts Jalopnik" in its rear quarter. Before and after pictures post-jump. Acer Ferrari F20 Display: Going Fast While Sitting Still
As Ferrari continues its indiscriminate branding campaign, one has to wonder if the next Ferrari-branded object will be a matched set of kitchen sponges. The latest item to bear the Ferrari badge is this 20-inch Ferrari F20 LCD monitor from Acer. Tom's Hardware tested the $549 monitor and lauded its high-quality design and finish, but didn't care much for its Ferrari logo which they described as a little cheap-looking. Its specs and performance were average, with its unusual 1680x1050 resolution (making it a true 16:9 panel) delivering a brightness of 300 nits, 800:1 contrast ratio and a quoted 16ms latency that Tom s measured as slower than that. That's certainly not the equivalent of that under four-second zero-to-60 time of the 483-hp Ferrari F430, and that brings up the one nit we have to pick: if it doesn t offer the ultimate in performance, why call it a Ferrari? Ferrari Monitor: Not Fast, But Expensive
Okay, it's not a car. But it's still a Ferrari, right? So you could tell everyone you own a Ferrari. What you really own is the limited edition Acer-branded Ferrari LCD monitors: the F-19 and F-20. A 19-inch and 20-inch monitor, respectively, the F-19 weighs in at 7.1kg, has a 500:1 contrast ratio and includes 2-Watt stereo speakers while the F-20 weighs 6.9kg, has a contrast ratio of 800:1, and 5-Watt speakers. These monitors obviously mimic the Ferrari design, showing a good amount of clever ergonomics and elegance. And they are made to match those Ferrari-branded Acer laptops and the PDA too. But you better act fast if you're interested because only 1,000 of these red hot babies will be available. Looks like it sells for around $800.
