Chris Owens, an enterprising design student from North Carolina State University, created a shelf that's lit from beneath by LEDs. Pressure-sensitive switches embedded in the shelf turn on those lights when you place an object on them. Take a look at the video to see the design prototype in action.
Wouldn't this be great to have a bar made of these pressure-sensitive lights? The bartender puts your drink in front of you and the bar lights up. Neat.

How cool would it be to have a whole sidewalk made of these? when you step on the tiles, they light up.
hooo! billy jean is not my lover, she's just a girl who claims that I am the one; but the kid is not my son! Hooo!
I think I hear "Billie Jean" playing in the background.
They also have a whole floor lighted at MIT.

DeeJayQueue: I think we are on the same wavelength.
Thats pretty cool now you can do finger breakdancing and really impress that hot chick siting at the bar.
I'm looking forward to hours of fun playing Simon with whisky glasses.

You mean like this? http://www.i-bar.ch/index.php?id=85
I think you should play a few rounds of Simon on it to prove to the bartender you're ready for another drink...
The bartenders will hate it. Imagine 20 people who are already waving money, and yelling for a drink, will now pound on the bar to make it light up! Of course, this will probably only make it into hoity-toity bars where you have your own "hostess."
"Ready to go, sir? Why don't you play a little game. If you win, I'll give you your keys back. If you don't, I'll call you a cab."
Hmmmmm.....Not a bad idea.....
