On account of October being the official Breast Cancer Awareness month, here are three gadgets you can purchase to help the cause. The 6GB USB Seagate HD, the Pioneer Inno, and Sanyo 3100. They're all pink, and all go great with your pink PSP, pink PS2, and Pink albums. Do your part to squeeze out boob cancer!

Boob cancer? There's nothing funny about breast cancer. I don't know if I believe in all these "pink" campaigns, but I do know that "boob cancer" isn't funny.
Boob cancer? There's nothing funny about breast cancer. Not sure if I personally believe in all these "pink campaigns" but I don't think making light of breast cancer is that funny.
Breast Cancer also occurs in men...calling it 'boob' cancer is a little offside.

The comment about the boob cancer was just plain rude and inconsiderate
Is anyone else frustrated that they sell these products as a marketing ploy. Also, why so much emphasis on breast cancer? Why not combat cancer in general?
"squeeze out boob cancer"
The 12 year old in me had fun with that one. Good post, though. If I had money I would buy em.
I agree with Schalliol there. What about heart disease too? That's the #1 killer of women in America today, not any cancer of any kind. I'm not saying this isn't a worthy cause, lordy no, especially since I'm the owner of a pair of boobs. I think that breast cancer just has a much better PR and marketing arm than any other cause out there today.
But if your gonna hafta make female targeted gizmos pink, this is a very good reason. I'm otherwise totaly put off by anything targeted to women that's been lamely slathered in a coat of pepto bismol pink.
what color would the prostate cancer devices be?
If it helps with the fight, then more power to them.
Sure, there are a lot of other diseases and problems we need to deal with (child abuse, for example), but it's not reasonable to suggest that all the donations go to just one area while the other areas sit on the shelf. Who knows why they're doing this pink thing, but then who really cares. If they give part of their proceeds to help fight any diseases, then more power to them.
But did they really have to say "squeeze out boob cancer"? I find that comment rather distasteful, if not downright disrespectful.
wicked stuff we should all support breast cancer as it is a worth while cause and scary
squeeze out boob cancer....its giz style leave 'em alone!
But did they really have to say "squeeze out boob cancer"?
yes.
I find that comment rather distasteful, if not downright disrespectful.
i didn't. now everything evens out. excellent.
is this why Gizmodo was pink the other day? or was that just a random fluke that no one shall ever speak of again.
x23:
Giz was pink the other day because Jeff the Gay Intern was 'Boss for a Day'.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
Personally, I am well aware of breasts and the cancer that effects them...
Support the cause...
Why men should support the fight against breast cancer:
CANCER -> FEWER BOOBIES!
Now you know, guys =D
For an interesting twist on the topic of the "pinking" of breast cancer awareness, please see the link on my website, http://www.honestmedicine.typepad.com, to the article "Welcome to Cancerland: A Mammogram Leads to a Cult of Pink Kitsch" by Barbara Ehrenreich. (You can access the article by going to the left side of my site, under "articles of importance.")
This article will give you a different perspective on the topic! It is a classic.
Sincerely,
Julia Schopick
