VJing is about to go high-def. Video mixing is usually synonymous with lower resolutions, but Edirol's new V-440 HD, due in December, is capable of mixing formats up to 1080i. The V-440 HD has full mixing features like Edirol's other mixers, including chroma-keying. The extra pixels come at a price — $12,995 — but compared to other high-end solutions, Edirol is staking out increasingly-affordable territory for video. People will wonder how they ever tripped out to NTSC.
