    Shield Finger Guard

American Guardian Inc. is selling the 'Shield Finger Guard,' a strip of plastic with adhesive that makes it impossible for children to pinch or sever their delicious fingers in the hinge side of swinging doors. Two models are available, with either a temporary, removable adhesive for homes (your kid will eventually get old enough to know better or, optimally, be left with a nubby stump too large to fit into the gap) or a permanent adhesive for schools and nurseries.

The Shield Finger Guard is $10 bucks, available at select retailers.
