NAB07: Show Cars for Pro Video Geeks Like Us

Sitting on their own outside was a collection of satellite trucks, news vans, remote location vehicles; basically, a car show for broadcast geeks.

Varying in size from Hummer H2 all the way up to semi-truck sized rigs, we were shooed away when the subject of pricing was broached. "If you have to ask, you can't afford it." Well, maybe if we blog really really hard, Santa will bring us one for Christmas.

  • "If you have to ask you can't afford it",WTF? I work for a national broadcasting company and trust me we can afford it, but the bean counters still need to know the price and get approval.

    :walks to the next vendor:

All I see is 300,000 failure points.

    (Sorry field service flashback.)

  • I'm surprised there were no advances discussed in quasi-portable, truck free flow management. Of course the sat truck will always be necessary on location, but methinks we can advance beyond the 'studio on wheels' and 'craft services trailer' :X
