Like Emotiv's Project Epoc, OCZ's Neural Impulse Actuator turns your brain into a video game controller. The headband's neural sensors are located up front, reading your neural activity the same way that an electrocardiograph reads your heart (though fortunately the NIA doesn't require you to lube up before putting the headband on). OCZ claims the device has a 2-minute learning curve. The NIA is set to come out at the end of the year for $300. It looks less intrusive than the Epoc, but unfortunately it's wired.
Check out the post-jump video to see the device in action.

Wow. I have to say that I am impressed. He was moving around pretty well for a quick trial.
Im wondering when these things will be sensitive or accurate enough to enable something like mind typing?
That would be the bee's knees for sure.
Now imagine this: Sexy Beach 3 + this controller! wOw! Better than the real thing, the girls in the game never get old, are free and after all you can just quit the game and go bed. :D

Add the thought powered Thrustmasterb TM and you can finally reclaim your hand!
The big question around here is -- What do you have to think when using this? Is he thinking:
"Forward. Forward. Forward. Shoot. Shoot. Right. Turn Left. Shoot. Forward. Forward. Jump."
Or is it much simpler than we are making it out to be?
Behold! ...the Powerglove for your miiiiind!
I don't need a machine to play games with my head, I'm married.
Wow. just like the mindrive, but years newer.
I can't wait until I can play Wii Sports using this. Excercise is so overrated.
The mounting system for this one is quite a bit nicer than the Epoc.
I'm looking into using a device like this for my 5 year old with CP, and the Epoc looked like it would easily be thrown off (both off the head and off the sensor points) with uncontrolled head movement.
The elastic band should stay in place just fine.
Looks like the keyboard controls were controlled with the mindlink, but not the mouse movement. It's a step in the right direction though. I guess in the future we won't need hand/eye coordination for games anymore. Just look at your target and think 'shoot'. Games will be more tactical and less about aim.
You have to think in Russian.
