    Programmable Spinning LED Fan

The idea of a fan with LEDs that spell out words as it spins is nothing new, but here's one that's programmable via USB. Polo Tech from Taiwan has patented a rotating LED fan display technology that lets you display your own name or any other text, and even simple graphics and animations inside of a rotating PC cooling fan. A rotating circuit board with a vertical array of LEDs attached uses persistence of vision to display the graphics.

Polo Tech displayed a prototype at Computex, where the image was reportedly sufficiently bright to be easily seen even in the full-on interior light of the conference hall. The company said fans using this technology might be available by next year.
