This isn't as much an intelligent spoon as much as a spoon studded with sensors. We've got a thermometer, a pH sensor, a viscosity sensor, and salinity sensor, all designed to test and upload food data as you eat it. This is an MIT design project for use in recipes and formulas. For example, sticking an alcohol sensor on there would be perfect for wine and beer-making.

I hope the prototype is RoHS compliant (Pb-free), otherwise it will eventually cause dementia :)
i saw this on foodchannel. its cool BUT needs some real need finding...the guy adds salt to the food mix, walks over to his computer stands there for a minute, then say, "yup, the spoon says there's salt in the mixture" uh, duh...
A solution in search of a problem.
and Charmin is adding sensors to their bathroom tissue, too. Guess what THAT will tell you???
