Made of over 5,000 pieces, and almost 3 feet long, this $499 Millennium Falcon is the biggest LEGO set ever made or sold.

That. Is. Awesome!
$500 and no working lasers? Come on! For that prices it should at least come pre-assembled or at least with life sized Leia in her slave bikini.
a few years ago i picked up the ultimate collector's x-wing and tie interceptor, then ran out of money. my secret dream is to win the lottery, then blow it all on the collector's blockade runner, star destroyer, and now this.
jesus for less than 500 dollars, I would rather have the Fine Molds Falcon, build the thing myself, and save 350 dollars.
Jeez I remember when that 2000-3000 piece Star Destroyer was a lot (took me 2-3 weeks to build with help), seems that it got beat out now.
I saw pictures on a another site of this thing. It also has removable panels and accessible interior too.
Anybody willing to buy a slightly used right arm?
That ain't the biggest ever made. Maybe the biggest sold as a set from LEGO, but I've seen cars completely made out of LEGOs.
Kittenparade, that's exactly what they are saying. This is the biggest SET ever designed and sold.
there's plenty of examples of larger projects that have been built.

Oooooo want one!
Damn them for making me actually consider buying this.
I don't want to own one and I don't want to spend the $500 but I would enjoy the process of putting one together. Is there a future for me as a Lego Assembly Technician?
Phew. I bought the 3D Puzzle Millenium Falcon at a garage sale about 10 years ago...that's about as close as I'm ever going to get to this.
The reason this thing is such a perfect beauty is that the "real" Millenium Falcon is such a patchjob POS. This is one of the few things that translates well as a LEGO model.
I'd hit it.
I mean...I'd buy it. Not strike it. No, no. I'd never do that.
I really appreciate the Walken reference...
"my secret dream is to win the lottery, then blow it all on the collector's blockade runner, star destroyer, and now this."
So you're going to blow all your cash before they come out with the collector's Death Star (1:1 scale)?
The Collector's Death star would be interesting. They could also make a Collectors Return of the Jedi Death star and just leave out a quarter of the pieces.
Funny, it's 549.99 euro if you log in from Holland... (714.45 USD)
icky2000:
Send IKEA your CV.
You built that yourself?
You're braver than I thought.
Just make sure the Hyperdrive works and there aren't any tracking device on board.
Seriously it's beautiful.
My wife said, "Where would we put it?"
I don't know. I don't know.
500? We could almost buy the whole lego aisle for that. I'm not such a bad lego builder myself.

The Collector's Edition is the DSII, under construction:

Whoops, meant that to be a link.(p)
Hmm, meant that to be a link. (p)
Something keeps eating my HTML.
That should have been a link.
Oh, that's just peachy. My browser stalled out on 3 attempts, and they all ended up going through. Are there mods to delete some of those, please.
I really am an SW Lego fan, but not THAT much of a fanboy, I swear!
all of the star wars lego kits look interesting (altho a few look like they are hardly made from legos like the AT-ST) except the sandcrawler, which looks like ass. jawas everywhere are pissed.
I'm waiting for the super star destroyer kit.
