A Japanese company by the name of Takanoha has come up with a tiny gadget that prevents you from falling asleep. Putting the Nap Alarm behind your ear, the gadget vibrates once it detects that you are falling asleep. It measures the speed of head movements in order to determine whether or not the user is falling asleep. Just think of all those times you stayed up all night cramming for an exam—or, at least you planned on staying up. With the Nap Alarm, waking up 15 minutes before said exam may be a thing of the past, though falling asleep while driving is another matter entirely. (Hint: Find a place to stop, pull over. Problem solved.)

Ahh...nothing like giving idiots a false sense of security. Lose weight while you sleep! Drive while your tired! Marry a super-model while eating ice-cream in your parents basement!
My uncle had problems falling asleep while driving as did my father. They both had devices just like this 25 years ago. Maybe not with fuzzy-logic that analyzes speed of head movement but a loud noise is a loud noise in a small enclosed space like a car.
Yeah, yeah -- maybe it will keep you awake, but I am not too interested in something that looks like that hanging from my ear. Sorry.
This is a must have to prevent those after work meeting naps. Wouldn't want to be the one caught wearing it when it goes off in a board room though. I think it is intended for drivers prone to sleeping behind the wheel.
