Everything USB got their feet into the USB heating slippers and found that it's actually quite toasty. After inserting their feet and hooking up the 4-foot USB cable to a USB port, they found that the heating elements got up to 101 degrees F. Yea, that's only slightly warmer than your body, but it should be toasty enough to keep your feet warm in chilly winters. [EverythingUSB]

What good is a 4 foot range on slippers?
101 degrees - compared to ambient room temp of 70 something degrees (during the cold months) is quite toasty for the feet.
I actually bought these a couple of months ago and they are quite good for sitting by your computer during cold days. The only drawback is the short cable, but we are geeks, which one of us doesn't have a USB extension cable lying around :D
damn do we really need want our computers powering everything? I got a better idea, its called a battery but then how big is your moms basement, really
Where's an emergency usb extension cord when you need one?
I can see disaster striking when you get up to go pee and forget you're still hooked to your computer via the USB cable!
(The obvious solution would be a USB bed pan of course. Patent pending)
they should build a house with all the power outlets replaced by usb ports
Think i could make some toast in there? Or maybe a bagel!
Why not just get a pair that plugs into the wall. If you are close enough to get power to your computer....plug your slippers into the wall.
Or try a pair of socks.
