If an ear-mounted flashlight is too far-fetched, you may want to pick up the Zen Lite Bite flashlight. Don't deny yourself—everyone at some point has put a flashlight in the mouth to do some work, and this little gadget makes the whole mouth flashlight technique a little easier. $8.

A few winds of 1" gaff tape or duct tape around the base of your maglight does the same thing. just remember to leave the battery compartment accessible. Thats how the pros do it.
Does putting a flashlight in my mouth make me less of a man?
just a suggestion gizmodo... since you have an occasional habit of reporting on items that are over 15 years old, perhaps you could start a new category called "Gizmodo Rewind" or "This Old Gadget" for those really out of date posts.
I read that as Lite Brite. A Lite Brite flashlight would've made for a much better post.
Does it also work as a kazoo? That way I can play the Great Escape theme while working...
Bah, useless accessory. Real men just wear down a groove in the casing with their teeth. No slippage there.
Yes this product is way old. But as long as Giz is all about the old flashlight accessories maybe they'll put up the companion product to this one that lets you strap the mag to your head with a headband. The perfect accessory for when you need to look like as much of a tool as the one your using.
Tucker's idea has merit.
I've owned a couple of these for field service work over the years.
They're great!
eeehm, head-mounted lamps anyone? There are bazillions of it. And that way you can eaven nibble on your significant's others nipples while looking @them. I prefer having my mouth free in the dark...
Fixed :)
Holy craaaaap. I have a mag-lite at work (theater company production shop) and I never knew what the hell it was for. It even has bite marks all over it.
I am feeling the dumb.
umm, I mean a mag-lite with one of these doodads on it
:)
I've got one of these and it's amazingly useful. I've also got the headstrap for my Mag-Lite and I'll tell you, I can put the bite-grip in my mouth a lot easier than I can thread the flashlight through the headstrap when it's completely pitch dark around.
Trust me, if you need to use this, the last thing you'll be worried about will be how you look.
but how well does it work with my 4 D-cell Maglite?
