This week, the center of the cell-phone world is the Tokyo International Exhibition Center, where the Wireless Japan 2007 Expo is taking place. Akihabara News was on the scene to catch some new concept designs from NEC. Some of the designs are so familiar I'm forced to label them "so last year," while others are so future-forward I'm branding them "What the hey?" How exactly does one use a crazy leather belt phone? Will my pants fall down every time I take a call? And I get the concept of a phone for babies, but why does the phone get a matching pacifier? Don't believe me? See for yourself in the gallery below. The belt phone would be used by guys in clubs. They're talking to a girl, signals a buddy to call his belt phone and when it rings, he gestures to the lady that it's for her with a little wink.
Seriously, a belt phone makes as much sense as a shoe mp3 player.
@VeloGuy75: Hey that would go great with my Popcorn dispensing pants!! lol
@VeloGuy75: you mean like nike+ipod?
one of the phones says 'you got a mail'?? great grammar
Wow, these are truly bizarre. Although very innovative.
Was there a shag carpet phone in there?
Who would be caught dead...
let the lawsuits begin as millions of men become sterile from putting a phone so close to their penile unit.
penile unit? HAHAHA
But seriously, I liked the camphone a lot more than those other concepts. Though it would be funny to have a "carpet-phone" also.
"Excuse me. Can you hold up my pants while I answer my phone?"
Another fan like myself of "Get Smart" finally gets his wish to design a phone not in a shoe but in a belt. I suppose agents from CTU will run to this invention. It is hard to believe but would you believe...uh there are 4 scouts with sling-shots... Nx
