The LawnBott may look like Arnold Schwarznegger's cycling helmet, but it's actually a cordless, remote-controlled lawnmower with a flat blade that mulches the grass as it cuts it. Charge it up on its docking station and it will go for 4 hours—or 33,000 square feet—on one single charge. It's apparently so quiet that you can let it run all night without bugging the neighbors, it doesn't mind a bit of light rain, and a heavier shower will send it toddling back to its base station like the obedient little robot it is.
It does hills—anything up to a 1:4 gradient, in fact—and only uses around $7 to $10 of electricity each year. The downside is the price: the LB2000 Professional will set you back $1,749.

Wait, you have to steer it, or does it cut the grass all by itself?
Remote control is stupid for that price. For that much or only a little more you can find a mower that steers itself. Just put down something like an invisible fence wire, and it will bounce around like a Roomba.
Also, the autonomous version doesn't look as stupid.
Didn't the automatic version fail because people were afraid it would be stolen or something?
They could have just added tazers to it to solve that problem. >__>
according to the website, it IS autonomous. You can control it using the remote if you want, apparently.
After have much I love my Roombas (and the new addition to the family I am hoping to get soon, the Scooba), I now need a lawn and a pool to complete my family.
Of course, if I was a woman, I would want the Woomba as well.
You can get the Friendly Robotics version for around a grand. As much as I hate mowing lawns, it's really tempting.
I think it would be fun to remote control a lawn mower...the first time.
I wonder how easy it would be to mod this into a battle-bot-style killer robot?
Still doesn't beat the franken-mower from Honey I shrunk the kids. Pure gold.
I would love to run my neighbor's lousy cat over with this. That would stop him from pooping in my yard. Sign me up!
With the incline, trees, etc in my yard--please! However, how does it handle sticks and pine cones?
I hope my neighbour gets one so I can lift it out of his yard when he's not looking.
The perfect weapon against your neighbors dog.
Geez. For that price, you can get autonomous ones that work fairly well. Not even Roomba randomness, but orderly cutting.
This is an autonomous robot like a roomba!!!! It has the ability to be remote controlled. Personally, I'd go for the bluetooth version.
awesome. and when the rc control dies, you can simply stick verne troyer under the hood with a hamster wheel.
Actually the lawnbott runs better when in automatic mode. Our remote ended up in the kitchen drawer. The remote is basically useless unless you want to waste time controlling it, but we find it mows great by itself. The Lawnbott really does work and works very well. You can try one risk-free at www.lawnbotts.com with their 30 day money back guarantee - highly recommended. You'll never mow again. It pays for itself in the time you're saving if you mow your own lawn. It's a no brainier if you pay a lawn service.
