In case you haven't heard already, Fünde Razor is coming. The oh-so-cleverly titled fundraiser for Penny Arcade's Child's Play Charity is happening in Denver and Brooklyn on Wednesday, December 12th, and it promises to be a lot of fun for a good cause. Organized by Kotaku's Brian Crecente and Boing Boing Gadgets' (and formerly Gizmodo's) Joel Johnson, it'll involve playing Rock Band and Guitar Hero on a giant screen while drinking fancy microbrews surrounded by a bunch of internet geeks. If you aren't sold by that description alone, I don't know what the hell is wrong with you. Perhaps we can entice you with some prizes?
Raffles will be in full effect at both locations, with the grand prize in both Denver and Brooklyn being these badass life-sized companion cubes (confused? Go play Portal. Now.). We here at Giz will also be tossing some awesome as-to-be-announced prizes into the ring, so get excited about that. But really, you should just be happy that there's an excuse to get drunk and play video games and actually be helping other people for once rather than just wasting your life away. A chance like this doesn't come around all too often, so don't blow it, OK? [Fünde Razor]

The only thing I'm interested in playing with at this event is that woman.
I would show her my boing boing gadget.
Nice, they're holding the Brooklyn fete at Barcade!
(a 5 minute walk from my place)
Great, great, great cause. I am going to try and get there.
Hell, I'm all over the Denver one.
I may be at the brooklyn one. Great way to finish Chanukah.
I want one of the companion cubes!
Must...Have...Cube...Plush.
Barcade might be the best bar in the world.
I'll go.
@john: Duff's is better. The Patriot in lower Manhattan is also pretty damn good, as is American Trash.
please do post some pictures..
The cake is a lie!!! Also, I want to make a fort out of like 20 of those plushie companion cubes.
I'd be her party escort.
I'd love one of those cubes as long as it would never stab me.
Ferget the companion cubes, what about babe-raham lincoln there in the middle. Yow-za!
Yunno, I'll probably go. Hope it's not a sausage-fest. Is she going to be there?
Those cubes are huge! I'm not sure what I'd do with it, but I want one anyway.
@weatherman: You incinerate it. Unfortunately, your faithful companion cube must be euthanized in an incinerator.
There will be cake and grief counseling will be provided.
I can't wait to have 10-20 Luv Sacs in my home cinema room. One of my wife's best ideas ever.
lol, what a dork, she's only getting laid because she's a girl.
@gokor:
i find it normally works that way in general. i generally go for girls anyway. YMMV.
@x23: The joke being that she's a dork as well, and if it were a guy, he'd be getting none at all.
I'll be at the Denver one. She better damn well be, too.
@omg-ponies: They should make the player sit on their own personalized companion cube and then incinerate it at the end (and tell them that was the fastest ever).
Is it sad that I noticed the weighted companion cubes before I noticed the woman? ... and is it more sad that even after noticing the woman, I'm still more interested in the companion cubes?
Sorry, but in this picture, the companion cubes win:
1. The girl is not bullet-resistant
2. The cube is covered in hearts - it loves you regardless of what you do to it
3. It's probably a felony in most states if you incinerate the girl after using her.
girl with pig face, red nose, and a dyke haircut. my kinda lady
um, has it occurred to any of you chowderheads that the girl with the cubes is either part of the Gizmoodo/Kotaku crew, related to the crew or dating somebody in the crew? Not just some Japanese hand model - a real person who probably reads this site. I hope she brings an actual banhammer to the event and knocks some of you silly.
@weatherman:
She knew the risks involved in allowing herself to be photographed with the cubes...
@gokor: decent looking "dork" dudes seem to do pretty well these days it seems. surprisingly so. and she is a decent looking "dork" lady.
You can always count on Kotaku/Gizmodo posters to provide you with a reason never to include females in photographs. Cavemen <3 technology.
I will definetly be their - I live around the Corner from Walnut :)
@x23: Yeah, I was amazed at the Gizmodo photo contest that found dudes banging HOT chicks.
I want a weighted companion cube!!
Yay! Giant companion cubes!
Too bad I'm nowhere near Denver or Brooklyn.
