This guy Ed McBride makes all sorts of crazy steel sculptures, including BBQ grills that look like dragons. The largest one he's made stands a hulking 9 feet tall and has a wingspan of 10 feet. They sure are awesome looking, in a strangely hypermasculine and dorky way, but with prices ranging from $40,000 to $90,000, I think I'll stick to using a Weber while watching The Never Ending Story, thanks. I miss Atreyu, but not in a gay way.
I realize it's "art", but these prices are almost as ridiculous as those fruity anjou cables.
@agrajag42:
There's another way?
I'm sure I could get an experienced metalworker to make a knock off for a tenth of that price. It isn't art if the guy who made it wears a cowboy hat.
I want one of the flying ones.
"Hey bring back my burgers!!!!"
@Jones Foyer: Plenty of artzy guys wear cowboy hats - and some even wear overalls. None of them wear real cowboy hats with real overalls however.
I heard these were actual dragons that he had slain, coated in metal and installed heating elements in, hence the cowboy hat.
Ridiculously overpriced, sharp and pointy tetanus injecting parts, and fire. What's not to love? Only way to improve the design is to motorize the bastard.
It would be nice if the charcoal dust comes out of the butt.
It would be nice if you could pump the tail and bursts of flames came out of the mouth! Now that would be thew REAL dragon BBQ!
Man I paid $1500 for my grille at Home Depot and it's a huge honking piece of stainless cooking awesomeness!
For prices ranging from $40,000 to $90,000 they look kinda ghetto! I mean it better some high-tech gizmos like digital displays or XM radio hidden somewhere! I hope he's not just charging me for the man-hours put in!
....although...if you could yank a chain and make it breath fire...I mean huge fire...then it would be worth it!
